Because there is an equal sign between the [ youtube ] tags.
You're only supposed to have numbers/letters in between.

Since you pasted the whole URL into the thing, the equal sign cut off the last letter when it got included

When you paste a Youtube URL into the thing, it looks for the 11-character code to identify it

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6903zFUIxoU

11-character code highlighted in red

When you copy the URL and it's longer than what it looks like above, it might not find the 11-character code and leave you with a white box since it can't find the video to embed.
That's why I just copy the code, because that's the only part that goes in between the [ youtube ] tags, like so.
