You did NAWT just touch Kelly's writing ability. Because of You is literally one of the best written ballads of the last decade and with over 7 millions singles sold nearly matched both of 1D's albums. And has longevity that 1D has yet to touch. When will 1D?

You guys in this Base won't understand because you like Harry, but sometimes I imagine what it would be like if he and Nathan switched bands. So perf!
Kimba
I'd be here for that. Harry has long lost his attraction for me.
As big as 1D is, why can't they get that kind of writing treatment?
I did say BoY was a supreme example of excellent writing. The numbers was icing on cake.
The numbers undermined your original point but let's move on.
Well they have that writing treatment at hand considering Kelly and Ed already have written for them, but they might pull out some big guns for the next album.

I'm waiting for my 1D/Xenomania track now.
True enough, I suppose. Sometimes lurking distorts one's perspective.
They should, really. (I'd be here for Ed again after what you showed me). Edit: Realized that 4 millions per album on their side is impressive for this age. Second, I actually want them to experiment with a demo like this for an example:
I'd wait for a will.i.am. mix for 1D. JUST to see how it goes (knowing will's record, probably a hit or miss).

They should, really. (I'd be here for Ed again after what you showed me). I wonder if they had sold in the age before digital sales, they might have had better album sales? Kelly had managed to create a pretty iconic album on her second release and 1D still needs to figure out where they need to balance their sound.

*NSYNC/BSB were selling back before the digital age, so I'd assume 1D would have similar sales back then? It's something we'll never know. As for the Kelly comparison, there is a huge difference between her WGWG image (she didn't play guitar but she was perfect meat within the pop-rock era) and a boy band. Like, they're incomparable.
The production for a will.i.am track is out in the EDM world already.
So just choose your favourite EDM tracks and imagine 1D on them.
I was going to drag you for shade, but I realised you look to Ed Sheeran like a g0d, so this mich be praise for the Legend, so I wont.

Sales makes a song good? Oh.
1D will get those numbers when they come to me for a song.

Haha, yeah. I realized that and edited my post about it; plus I added a demo that I think might be a good sound for them to experiment with. Odd thing is I remember them saying the 2nd album would be more grunge-like sound and yet, it isn't. Probably just one of those things that are assumed before the album production is ever started and completed.
I actually like will.i.am's tracks that he produces. They're pretty flawless when he works in tandem with other producers.

Thx for rubbing in the wrong salt in the wound.
I'll wait for the critical praise for a 1D song. Though TML is pretty darn close.
Fff.....One Direction albums have higher metacritic scores than a lot of pop girls.
Are you even a stan xDiamondx.....or just a secret Kelly fanatic who came in here because of one mediocre sing she gave them?
Okay. First, I'll apologize for overreacting like I did. Shouldn't have even posted what I did without thinking.
Second, yes, I do like them a lot to stan for them. Sometimes I get a little carried away thinking what sound I like from them. And i'm a lot more vocal on ATRL than anywhere else, so I have a habit of putting my metaphorical foot in my mouth.
Little Things is trash that keeps their image from maturing and stays clinging to the insecure girl demographic
and dont bring in metacritic when its obvious reviewers didnt even bother with the album for obvious reasons
just 9 reviews for an album should tell you something

You know I love and adore Legend N, so of course this would be praise.

I remember the producers saying that the vocals for the album were definitely an improvement over the debut, and that happened. I think they mentioned that the album would be a little more rocky, and it is in comparison to the debut, too. I don't think they ever said grunge, or maybe I'm simply forgetting.
He was a genius with BEP but then he fell all the way off once 2010 came along.

Despite Take Me Home’s boardroom-defined objectives, the music itself is of a notable quality. Polished and dependable, despite its safety there are some show-stopping pop anthems present, with the instantaneous chorus of C’Mon C’Mon perhaps the best thing 1D have put their name to.

It's not often you encounter a new album that you can genuinely describe as phenomenal, but the adjective fits One Direction's Take Me Home. If it maintains the quintet's current upward trajectory, they have every right to call themselves the biggest group in the world.
Just the first ones I came across, never doubt the Kings.
Niall won't be unemployed, his solo album will outsell all the boys albums and he'll become the biggest of them all.
Even I know that you do not honestly believe this.

(I digress, and this is not directed at anyone in particular, but rather at the universe at large. I find that people who complain about receipts only do so because they want EVERYTHING to be based on opinion so they can just say "Nuh uh, I am right, you are wrong, so there!" and there is nothing anyone can respond with.)
People who attack others for using sales receipts generally only do so because they DON'T have receipts or a leg to stand on. Sales receipts are pretty much much the only non subjective measure of quality we have when it comes to media. When someone buys a song they generally do it because they like it. If enough people buy a song I don't know of any better objective measure to say that it at least has some sort of quality (even songs like Gangnam Style have their niche.... it would not not sold well if it was not good WITHIN its niche of silly Korean songs).
Flops generally flop because their music is bad. This is ESPECIALLY true of established artists. Unknowns can flop because no one knows who they are and they struggle to get traction. Big names cannot use that excuse.

This was like so long time ago when I heard them mentioned the sound influences when they were going to draw on. Must've been an interview (probably obscure) that I ran across once and never seen again.
And not you shoving me off the cliff with the amount of tea you spilled.

Kiss You is soooo not clinging to their girl demographic.

There's a reason all the girls are pressed when I stan for Little Things. I don't remember Gotta Be You, One Thing, Live While We're Young and Kiss You having the sales and longevity that Little Things did in the UK

I'm sure you've heard some songs on the radio where you've thought "why on earth are people buying this?". Music taste simply doesn't transcend into sales and at least when it's taste vs taste it's a level playing field. BOTH sides can think to themselves "well I'm right, so". When someone brings up sales, it takes all the integrity away from the discussion.
I have never, ever understood the logic of "[artist] flopped because it simply wasn't good". There are many people out there who think that "flop" albums are an artist's best work.
