Surprised no one on here is scalping Ella for writing ballads and "trying to be like Adele"

True that. And it's cool, I'm just messing around.
Because Ella's music is different from Adele's, and she's a very genuine person; you can tell by her interviews and her live performances. She's a very humble and kind person, it seems. Sam Smith is humble and kind, too (or he appears to be), but the problem we have with him is that he goes so far as to make Adele-like speeches, and he's compared to Adele unnecessarily. The comparisons aren't necessarily fair to either artist. Just because he's the only male artist in recent years to come out with a breakup album with primarily soul music and achieve commercial success with it does not make him Adele's male equivalent.
Ella has her own style. She has some stuff that's similar to Adele, but she's got a broader and more diverse discography musically. Some of her stuff like "Empire" could be classified as a pop power ballad, while stuff like "Rockets" is a feel-good upbeat pop anthem, and then she has songs like "Yours" and "Give Your Heart Away" that are much more soulful and more reminiscent of Adele's stuff. Sam's team especially (I never said this was entirely his fault, but I hate his team for doing this) is HORRIBLE about trying to get him to act more like Adele and it's really irritating. Besides, he doesn't have as listenable of a voice. His voice is FANTASTIC, but at the same time, it's whiny (if that's the right word), and it's not as easy-on-the-ears as something like Adele or Ella. Plus, I don't hear the emotion in his music that I hear in Adele's and Ella Henderson's.

I legit would DIE if Ella opened for Adele on tour. It would be the greatest thing EVER.
