He publicly tweeted support of this Duck Dynasty dude and their 'family values.'
That's not over-analyzing; it's common sense.

family values
plural noun
the moral and ethical principles traditionally upheld and transmitted within a family, as honesty, loyalty, industry, and faith.
I mean, he didn't even say anything offensive though? People are just reading stuff into it that he never said, I honestly don't understand what the drama is about.
i think what's making this a big deal is that the duck dynasty dude is anti-gay. liam co-signing duck because of ''family values'' made it seem like he supported duck his anti-gay slant. maybe he didn't it mean that way but that's how it came across. if he didnt hate gays before, im sure he does now.
QueenCarrie not understanding what's wrong with a boy band member which markets itself to gays tweeting his support for a homophobic racist and going out of his way to use the words "family values." You're either dumb, trolling, or both.

Either you find it reckless or you don't.
I found it reckless. Therefore, I reacted (which is within my rights).

But family values is a very specific phrase with a very specific meaning...
I think you're giving the boy too much credit; I doubt he knows that family values can be read as nuclear family and heterosexuality. I honestly think he just meant that he respects how close-knit the family is.

I don't think Laime is homophobic per se, I just think he typed the wrong thing out with no knowledge of the intention it might cause. I don't think he's intelligent enough to shadily throw across some homophobia like that. By 'family values', he probably just means they're a family. I don't look any more into it.

Like, I'm a huge fan of MJ his hits despite knowing full well what he did to them kids. And I'm a fan of One of the Boys despite Katy Perry being a huge racist.
