That's not real longevity. I mean over the course of many, many months. Will it be able to sell 5-10 million copies from February 2016 on, for instance. The first few months aren't really useful in observing any trends and are a given for her in this position, honestly.

Same thing happened to Born this Way. Everyone freaked out that it was huge and Gaga was killing it and then people turned on it because it was just too much slaying. She's past her allowed limit that people will tolerate unchallenged.

Unless 25 sells 20 million copies (literally) by year's end, longevity is way more important than burst sales. It will be the first strong indicator of whether her success will transfer far into the future, in my opinion. Again, by longevity, I mean its ability to consistently move large numbers in the months after this holiday season.

The thing with Adele is that while her music is generally good, it's not earth-shattering and the GP still treats her music like it actually is earth-shattering. They see her as some savior or something. Her music is good but people of her class/genre/artistic type have made better.

She's a tad bit overrated but also talented and deserving of her success? It's weird.
