The post holds true-s and false-s. The song is not bad by any means. But Kanye ruins it. It should have been Rihanna ft Paul and it would have been iconic.
The truth is that for such a long break and our countless meltdowns in the base for years and each month, the song is a letdown. She could have done something way more epic. I mean she is slaying with FFS, imagine with a big pop record.

Would've been a basic video and nothing new. FFS video fits the song perfectly, it's minimalistic just like the song. They needed to make a simple video so that more focus can be paid to the lyrics. They probably wanted people to focus on Rih & Kanye's facial expressions and that was the best thing to do, and it worked.
Just because the video is "cheap", doesn't mean it's a bad video. Also a lot of big pop records have had "cheap" videos (Someone Like You, Stay, Somebody That I Used To Know, etc.).

A comment like that comes across as extremely ignorant. She wore vintage pieces in the video, it was directed by Inez and vinoodh. You think they did that video for free?
A video being in one location, having a black and white treatment does not make it cheap. Like pls the video was given a simple treatment because it fits the song.( A laid back acoustic vibe)

For people who are disappointed with 45S, please remember that an entire album (+ more singles) is coming. But Rih loves this song and fought for it to be HER single. No matter how you look at it, this is something she actively chose to do and believes in.
This also isn't badgalriri. She has matured considerably since then and has new priorities. I don't think we can compare this to UNA... the circumstances are so different. The only constant for her is that the album will showcase different genres and moods. Everything else is pure speculation, and it's virtually based on nothing. Y'all are going to drive each other insane.
Y'all should know that Rihanna does promo on SNL, Ellen, X-Factor etc. when the album is released or is about to be released. It's always been like this, why would it change now?
