Alright, here goes. First off, Domino, I did score you pretty high. I'm not sure if my comment came off as if I didn't, but know that you did still did very well in my eyes. You weren't one of my two 10's, but even if I were to give you one, I still wouldn't change my other two either. Now with that said…
I can't speak for the other judges, and I honestly feel like I'm at a lone stance here (but this is why there's five of us), but I strongly felt like I wasn't presented much variety to judge in terms of content this challenge. Ya'll put the most generic and vanilla take on "Quick Guide to ATRL" and ran with it. It was too reminiscent of the "Welcome to ATRL" promo challenge last cycle, which had a pretty pinpoint area to work with yet I think this one gave you guys a bit more leeway. It's a quick guide, but I would've rather everyone went more with an organized, yet informal route— a leveled one-on-one approach with this as if they were speaking to the newbies themselves. Most entries basically copied and pasted the descriptions from the sections and Warnings page and put it all into on, with barely anything else to add, but that just leaves me to judge almost solely on formatting. Which isn't exactly fair.
Although I think Matty may have been looking for a guide that could be used as the politically correct poster-child for ATRL, but I think you you need both; a quick guide to give a quick rundown on all the sections in a general and concise description, but you also need that bathroom gossip guide to help that member fit in, learn the ropes, and find their niche. And I think that's what's more important here. Show me the link to the Rules, but instead of posting them verbatim, tell me what to look out for under each category. The Rules & Guidelines don't point out how much explicit content has become pretty much forbidden. The Nickname section has always been a confusion to newbies. Tell me what Lounge/etc and SYG are for, but tell me what not to do to avoid closed redundant threads or run SYG arguments into the ground to avoid getting closed for the 15th time. The creativity was endless tbh in that sense. The Survival Guide to ATRL: The Warning Edition, The Ropes: A How-To for the Ever Shallow World of Stanning You get the picture.
This obviously doesn't apply to everyone. Some of you guys hit what I wanted on the head, but some of you (Connor and Cat come to mind) were the exact inspiration for this. I hope that clears up any confusion on my stance.

Kitt, thanks for taking your time to reply to my issue.
But I still think you wanted a GUIDE for ATRL not a QUICK guide.
I might be the only one who thinks that. I sat on this thing for more than 5 hours to make sure that everyone would read it. And I wrote everything by myself. I didn't even know the sections had descriptions.
I could have written those novels, too if that was the challenge.
Who would read all the texts that some have written? No one. Even Edge complained.
That's why I really tried to put as much info as I could into it but still make it easy to read.
And I added the link to the complex guides in order for them to check it out if they want to get more information, instead of bombarding them with infos and infos.
But if you really think that way, then I apologize. I guess I didn't read correctly and missed the challenge.

I had a slight feeling that Nicki could've been in trouble. I gave ha a solid 8 because I felt that it was creative to use a source outside of ATRL for the challenge, because I was thinking of maybe doing that one time, but then I also felt it was kind of an easy way out to get it done fast as well. But wow, I never expected her to actually be eliminated. Good luck in coming back! And fff at another person dropping out of that.

I can already tell you that I will not participate in the comeback series if I get eliminated.

I'm not sure if I will or not. Then again, it's now the top 8 and 1 person waiting in the comeback series (possibly) so who knows when someone will actually come back or if anyone will even return at all with all the evictees dropping.

At the rate you're going in terms of ranking every challenge, you won't be eliminated by the time the comeback thing ends, anyway.
One thing I fail to see is how you view your guide as a "quick" guide. No, DOM's guide was a quick guide. Yours was actually fairly comprehensive and full. I just, personally, thought that the descriptions were a little on the bland side, but that's the only thing I saw wrong with the entry. For the record, like Kitt, I gave you a fairly high ranking and rating. You had a strong performance, just as you have basically the entire cycle.

If, with a lot of LUCK I can enter the final 2, that person will come back so I can be placed #3 again.
You were my #1 this week, by the way. Superb.

If you guys really placed me that high I wouldn't always end up being #3.
Don't say #3 is high when there are only 8 people left. Top 2 is high.
The only one who placed me really high this challenge was probably Matty judging by his comments.

I didn't overrate you. Yours was so easy to read and it didn't feel forced when I read it.
Thanks.
I don't know what I should do in the next challenge, to be honest. I really don't.
The more effort I put into it the more I get stuck at that #3.

Eh
Same. I don't know if I should even do a fancy format now since I got #4 with an average submission which apparently proves that a great layout isn't too important anymore but will just simply help you if you have a great one.

There were NINE people left when you finished #3 in this past challenge. Yes, NOW there are eight people, but nine people competed during that challenge.
As for the rest, I only gave three people an 8 or higher this past challenge, and you were one of them. It's not ENTIRELY about the ranking. Compared to the previous challenges in this cycle, I judged this challenge more harshly, based on my ratings. The fact that you were one of three people to get an 8 or higher during this particular challenge IS an accomplishment, even if you don't want to believe that it is.

I'm last in the contestant rankings for the second week in a row. Keep trying, everybody.
I agree with the judges on this one completely. My entry was WAAAYYY too short. I had other buttons to format in but didn't finish all of them so I just had the two.
However, I am thankful for all the comments and being safe.
Good luck in the comeback cycle, Nicki!

I appreciate the critique from the judges. I know I fell off from the first week, and I'm not even quite sure if I know what happened to me.
But, If I'm doing the comeback series thing....

ffffff Domino, I commented on the length only because I felt the content was bland in comparison to your formatting. I praised your entry up and down matter of fact and I definitely don't think it's even mediocre. But again, all I was trying to convey was that I'd have liked "quick guides" to be a bit more relatable and not text book copied. My word obviously isn't the final one, but I'd bet that it wasn't my score for you that gave you your placement, but rather my score for the two above you. And for crying out loud, I've just taken a look at your run so far and you need to knock it down a notch or two. Sister, you've been in the top three consistently for the past 4 rounds. TOP 3! ONLY FOUR ROUNDS! Everyone else has been fluctuating up and down nonstop. Take a breather.

Well hot damn.
I'm a little surprised - I honestly wasn't sure whether is rank as high this time! But thank you once again to the judges and players for the input and ranking. It's much appreciated. I was a little worried about the length of each section - there's just so much overall to include that it's hard to narrow things down. I didn't want to filter much more from the section with the actual ATRL sections because I felt that I'd be eliminating necessary information, but I do think much of it could be condensed via lists or bullets.
Domino, I know you're disappointed with your ranking, but know this - you're clearly one of the best competitors out there and a player-favorite; there's no way you won't make at least the second-to-last round. In fact, I could very easily see you making it into the final. You've kept a consistently good ranking and as soon as someone slips up, perhaps myself even, you'll be the first to boot them out when we're down to the top 3. And though you don't want to be known as the formatting guy who doesn't care about content, at least take the title of formatting guy - you blew us all away in that category.

I want to apologize to Retro for always dragging him positively. I always point out a flaw but then praise you for it. That is ****ed up. I basically said you were the best at being basic this round. I am sorry and I will try to stop.

I am, and have always been, very hard on myself.
Being #3 on the first challenge even broke my heart but I thought: Okay we are 14 people what do you expect?
This time I really put all my heart into it and it was #3 again.
I hope you can understand where I'm coming from.
And I really didn't want to offend anybody. Sorry if it came across that way.

Thanks for the inspiring words. You were my #2 even with that length.
I am just so disappointed.
