She was probably talking about the band's instrumental track + backing vocals.
That's why she talked about set up, like goldsoundz said, instrumentals are always pre-recorded b/c they don't have enough time to set up and soundcheck all the instruments, just Katy's + guests' mics.
I think she's going to sing it live. She isn't dumb. She knows she isn't Beyonce and she couldn't get away with lip-syncing and making it sound authentic. Her studio vocals are too processed.
