Oddly, it's weird how The Night is Still Young is the most streamed song from the album but not the most purchased at all it seems.
I appreciate how the public has moderately streamed and bought some of the most emotional pieces of the album: I lied & Crying Games. in a perfect world, i'd wish Nicki would choose those as singles they're so pure and filled with quality.

It is strange. I hope it doesn't flop

I Lied isn't single material, and TCG is borderline. There's no point in trying to determine singles based on "quality". It's all about what'll sound good on the radio and what'll work.

Well, first of all, they added it to a popular playlist which gave it a lot of streams, but even without that the streams are still decent, but I assume most of them come from outside the US.
Honestly, I think TNISY will flop in the US (TB and FM will overshadow it), but will have better stats in Europe and Australia. Similar to the situation of Only and Bed Of Lies.

Ariana going on tour, so they wouldn't be able to promote it.

Son, the next single isn't the final single. There's more opportunities for such + Republic will issue more especially since her album is at 416K after a month while Ari's is at just over 500K with much more promotion and bigger songs.
TNISY is a solo song and makes sense because she's going on tour and can promote it by herself. Ariana is also going on tour but she'll be in the US when Nickk is in Europe.

Pound the Alarm was in the Top 1000 before it was a single. After the video, it went Top 20 in a day.

TNIY was an obvious choice and frankly a must for her. Her album flopped in Europe, and she has an arena tour coming up March, she needs to have a pop single to give it the push it needs. Its obvious that that song is meant for the international market, and what better choice to release it then when she touring there.
The Crying Game and I Lied is one of my faves from TPP, but its not a good choice as the next single, especially since she already released Bed of Lies, no need to repeat the breakup sad songs until the autumn 2015. She needs a fun happy song for spring 2015, and TNIY is perfect.
Hopefully it will smash in Europe, the video better be amazing and expensive.

Honestly, i feel like music is somewhat beyond that point of " what'll sound good on the radio" TO AN EXTENT. i'm not going to be naive, but I think we all briefly acknowledged this before but through the recent years, music on the radio has been taking this approach toward quality. See: Church, Adele Singles, Rihanna's stay, etc etc. I guess Nicki tried it with PNP. but it wouldve been nice if she sent stronger material. sidenote: it's basically me always wishing Nicki had the emotional slow song blow up, just one of the things i always wanted for is all. I love it when the public sees her emotional side to remember her emotional side.

This. They wont be able to promote it properly, plus i think its time for Nicki to release another solo song, since the past three singles all have had heavy features.

i acknowledge Republic for not throwing TB availbabitly on iTunes immediately, i assume there deciding to use that for album sales. I'm just surprised there not gung hoe for them single sales. I didn't expect them to have much of any strategic prowess with the way they've been handling Nicki

And what happened to the Bed of Lies video? Did they cancel it? I guess they gave up on it, since it didnt go nowhere, but they kinda waited too long to released on radio. Did they cancel the January radio release too?
Well, i would of liked a video for it, but i guess its best to move on to a new single, BOL is pretty much done.

Regardless, of course I'll be happy if it becomes a hit even if the song is not that good, cause she's my fave after all.

But EDM is still a thing everywhere in the world and it is huge in many markets.
Even in the USA you have more than enough dance hits. They simply don't dominate anymore.

TNISY is in Spotify's 'New Hits (something like that)' playlist which is followed by millions of people. That is why it got so many streams.
