Tbh! You can never really trust them unless the artist actually says they're going to appear there, and even then you can't (Beyonce).

What the hell are you people complaining about. That was great promotion on an already praised performance. It let even more of the GP in on what went on during that tribute. Which really was amazing and integrated amazing technology. Why not let more people in on that - and how Gaga implements it? Sure, it could've been longer, but... who cares?

It definitely wasn't a "surprise", but that's GMAs fault, not Gaga's.
