Before 25's release, it was reported that the album shipped 3.6 million physical copies to retailers. In addition, sources were forecasting 25's CD configuration to sell 1.5 million in its first week, while its digital edition could move another 1 million (meaning, its first week might be at least 2.5 million in total).

But wait, if it already passed that 1M first day? (Amazon and Google Play probably filling that 100K difference)

It's cool to see someone outselling the peak of album sales when sales are in such a huge recession, but this isn't something that's literally going to be taught in history classes at schools or passed down from generation to generation. It's just a cool achievement for Adele. Congrats to her.

Oh please don't be that delusional. Adele had 500K+ reported preorders including 100K+ from Amazon, so let's say 450K from iTunes, she sold another 450K+ and just in the US in 1st day when she is far more global than Beyoncé. That record is GONE.
