She literally was the artist responsible for the development of one genre and shifted the musical direction of another. New Jack Swing and the beginnings of the fusion of Hip Hop music into R&B was the work of Janet along with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis between the Control and Rhythm Nation 1814 eras.
The information is there if you want to research, but the willful ignorance of peoples' work and contributions and desire to marginalize them simply due to that ignorance is just
If you're not aware of what someone did and don't care to research prior to commenting, why even bother? Her work
is worthy of her status as a legend whether or not
you're aware of what she has done to shift the landscape of modern music as we know it.
