I think I'd get crazy in a city that big though. There is so much to see and it's also kinda dangerous to travel alone (and she's a girl!). Still, so jealous!

I wanna go there soon tbh. It's pretty cheap (the city and the flight) and has tons of stuff to do. I don't think it would be too bad going alone; it'd be like going to any other big city alone.

Im gonna try to add Scotland to my Europe trip this summer, i have family there and my mom is from there so like whats the point of not going to your family’s homeland if youre in the area... I should’ve shot up there from London on last summer’s trip but I didnt really care to go for some reaosn.

i loved mexico city!! teotihuacan too

i felt completely fine walking the streets at 2-4am. there are really nice areas, and you can uber everywhere else. there's so much to do and it's all sooo cheap!

I think so.

I was scared before going there (you can't guarantee safety in any major city) but once there I felt safe. Surprisingly I saw a lot of Americans and Europeans (expats and tourists). Zona Rosa, Condesa, Roma, and Polanco are wealthy/hip neighborhoods that reminded me of regular streets in Paris and Madrid. Zona Rosa has a huge gay scene.

It was the cheapest trip of mine, ever. I stayed in a beautiful and modern airbnb apartment for the price of a crappy hotel in an American city. Meals are cheap and the metro costs about 25 cents a ride. There are a lot of those tours that take you around the city and to the pyramids and archeological sites outside of it.

People are friendly and there is such a rich culture. It all depends what you're into though. I know people who probably wouldn't like it. I've yet to read one bad experience from people visiting Mexico City. The acclaim I'm gonna try to go before the year ends but I just have to find time for it.

I can't wait to see it! Experience it!

It'll be my first time out of Europe and my first time out of UK in about, 6 years.

I haven't been to India, but I have some recommendations:

Delhi is a great and probably the best starting city. It's also really close to Agra, where you'd find the iconic Taj Mahal.

Mumbai is probably best to save for either last or the middle of your trip as its busier and more chaotic than Delhi. Unless you like crowds or are an adventurous traveler you could dive right in!

There's also Jaipur and Kolkata too

I think just the basic one. I looked online and it said it was free. I can stay up to 3 months within 12 months.

I'm actually going with an ex-ATRLer and meeting another ATRLer. I believe the plan is to fly to Brisbane and then drive down to Sydney.

What are some things you can do? Because all I think of is the beach and I know it's still the middle of winter there, but surely for Brits it would feel like summer?

Mexico City is probably one of the safest cities in Mexico, although like any other big city its wise to be aware of your surroundings.

I lived in Lille, France for a semester and I loved it, good luck! As for Paris it's pretty safe except for St. Denis and a few other places which you probably won't even go to, tbh. Downtown Paris is pretty touristy but also kinda quiet during the night. All of France is pretty expensive so it makes sense that the capital would be too imo. The metro is pretty easy to use too.
