Just read some of the earlier posts......
The non-singles are great esp Guetta's Memories, but Make Me Cry isn't even half as good as Stand Up in my opinion.
....and I agree with most of the ear aches (particularly Paulo Nutini even though Candy is quite a gd song).
- I'm not going to sell this song to you, because I actually can't stand it anymore. But remember this year-end is made up of a year-end point board, so there you have it. The song hit #1 in the UK in October, and subsequently missed the Top 30 on my chart, aswell as becoming the only song of his to debut at all. Deary, deary Mr. Munk! This is the only song by Chipmunk in the Chart.
199. Just Jack - Embers (68 points)
- You may have heard this song during an episode of Gossip Girl, but this song goes way back to April for me. Having been a huge fan of Jack's in 2007, "Embers" was a must listen for me. The hand-claps, the lyrics, the melody, everything about it, I loved immediately, but as quickly as it jumped up the chart, it fell straight back down in a matter of 3 weeks. This is the only song by Just Jack in the chart.
198. Lady GaGa - Eh, Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say) (68 points)
- While some call this their favourite GaGa song, I would call it probably my least favourite. With a Cherry Cherry, Boom Boom hookline, that I found myself singing out of nowhere, I thought this was going to be a grower, but sadly it never came to anything, only peaking at #32 in my charts. This was probably due to the high success of Poker Face and LoveGame on my chart at the time. This is one of seven Lady GaGa songs in the chart.
197. Taylor Swift - Fifteen (69 points)
- Not my favourite Taylor song, but it definitely is a grower. With a nice little melody to it, and fantastic lyrics about what Taylor and her best friend really went through, and probably what every teenage girl goes through, has a strong message to all teenage girls. I love Taylor, but for me, this isn't a favourite from the album. This song only managed to peak at #33 for 2 weeks in my chart, it is still currently charting, but has fallen to the bottom of the Top 50. This is one of four Taylor Swift songs in the chart.
196. JLS - Everybody In Love (69 points)
- Britain's favourite boyband at the moment are JLS, and Britain certainly are shoving these X Factor runner-up's down the public's throats. With this song becoming a number one hit in November, becoming their third number one overall, they are certainly proving to be no one hit wonders. I enjoyed this song, as it was produced by J.R. Rotem, who is behind three number ones from my chart, Rihanna''s SOS, Sean Kingston's Beautiful Girls, and Jason DeRulo's Whatcha Say (which will appear later in the chart. This is one of two JLS songs in the chart.
195. Jamie Foxx ft. T-Pain - Blame It (69 points)
- Jamie Foxx's music is partially unknown to the UK Audience, but in 2009, I certainly enjoyed Jamie Foxx's album Intuition. Becoming a huge hit in the United States, peaking at #2, I payed close attention to this song, but other songs from his album overshadowed this song for me. It managed to reach the Top 40 in the Summer, and peak at #31. This is one of two Jamie Foxx songs in the chart.
194. Miley Cyrus - Hoedown Throwdown (71 points)
- Yes, this is shocking, and embarrassing at the same time to see this song even peak this high. But to be honest, I really enjoyed this cheesy dance routine. Let's just be thankful I never learned the dance routine. This is probably my top Guilty Pleasure of the year. This is one of four Miley Cyrus songs in the chart.
193. Rob Thomas - Her Diamonds (74 points)
- What a brilliant Rob created here. Written for his wife who suffers from Lupus, this song really got me during the Summer this year. It became the highest debut of the week it debuted, by peaking at #23, but never stayed long in the Top 50, as I soon lost interest in the song. Rob has an awesome voice, which captures the song terrifically. This is the only song by Rob Thomas in the chart.
192. The X Factor Finalists 2009 - You Are Not Alone (75 points)
- I don't expect people to like this, and to be honest, niether do I. But I'm a huge X Factor fan, and I couldn't not have this song in the chart. Paying a fitting tribute to Michael Jackson, and donating the money to Great Oldman Street hospital, it had great vocals from the amazing Stacey Solomon and Olly Murs. It peaked within in the Top 20, peaking at #12, but it only stayed around for 2 weeks, falling to #17 in it's second week, and then falling out the chart altogether after that. This is the only song by The X Factor Finalists in the chart.
191. Girls Can't Catch - Keep Your Head Up (75 points)
- I highly recommend this song! I loved this song when I first heard it, and it made me think of my automatic love for The Saturdays in 2008. If you haven't already heard this, than make this your oppurtunity now! With a rock-pop sound to it, and brilliant vocals by the three piece, it made for great listening during this Summer. It peaked within the Top 25, and managed to stick around for 7 weeks, but through all that, the band still managed to make an impact with me, and I'm looking forward to more material from them in 2010. This is the only song by Girls Can't Catch in the chart.
