These critic reviews trashing this show and I gave it a chance and I am thoroughly impressed.

Television nowadays holds your hand and spoonfeeds you information and generally leaves you not having to think too hard about what you just watched. Can't say I'm particularly warming up to anyone by the end of Episode 3. Lito's boyfriend is cute tho.

The thing is that the first episode is too slow, but I think some critics are overreacting when even Lost had many boring episodes and I love Lost.

The other episodes are great tho and put the first episode to shame

I am OBSESSED WITH THIS SHOW! I just started watching it yesterday and now I'm on episode 11. It's the most diverse show I have ever seen and all the men in the show are fine as hell. the fact that I was hoping the Spanish guy was gay and then it finally comming true is so Damn AMAZING

I'm glad there's things unanswered like Will seeing the man and all this stuff with Riley, but I kinda wanted more on the other characters. Still, it was a great episode and it tied things up nicely enough for now.

I didn't think they left that part of things unanswered. That entire scene was to actually answer things for the audience and for Will.

That entire scene is of Riley and her husband and her giving birth and basically showing the reason why she was so apprehensive about going back home and being there because that's where some of the most important people in her life died. That wasn't her mother they showed in the car as some may have thought, it was her.

Riley's story was intense, but I'm still not sure what skill she brings to the group. With the other sensates, their skills are tied in closely with their stories. Sun, Wolfgang and Will are the fighters. Lito and Nomi are the social/tech engineers. Capheus is the transportation. Kala is the medical intelligence. Riley...?

That being said, I don't mind any of the sensates. The show does a good job of creating likable characters. Even the side characters are great. I agree that the writing isn't the best but the actors still manage to sell it. I was immersed from the start and wanted to see more of their lives. The h8ers aren't as optimistic I guess.

Wolfgang sort of grew on me over the season. I normally wouldn't care about the romance except it was hinted that falling in love within a cluster isn't a good idea so I'm curious where that's gonna go.

Riley is a tough as nails survivor, which I think is important when you have a group of people who are being hunted to death. Plus she's the only one who's ever known what it's like to be a parent even if it only lasted a night . That's pretty important.

Besides, she initiated the "Hey, What's Going On?" scene, which is basically the best musical scene in the history of television.




Will — sense of justice, righteousness
Nomi — social justice
Lito — acting, "lying for a living"
Sun — fighting, loyalty to family
Kala — chemistry, religiosity, emotive
Wolfgang — fighting, surviving; not as "noble" (stealing, murdering, etc)
Capheus — surviving, transportation, protective
Riley — surviving, artistic soul


I also think that Nomi, Sun, and Will have more logical mindsets, while Riley and Lito are more artistic. Kala and Wolfgang's relationship is interesting because one is very moral, and the other is painted as being much less so.

You use surviving as if they didn't need the other sense8s help to survive. Riley would have been dead without Will. Capheus would have been dead without Sun. Wolfgang is, imo, the only "survivor". Although it could be argued that Wolfgang would have been dead without Kala. Surviving can't be a beneficial trait if you need someone else's trait to survive. If that's the case, they are all survivors.

Wolfgang and Sun are second faves, but I want more than just violence from them. I mean yeah they can fight, but give them a more expansive storyline next season pls.

I love how all the guys (except for the one in Nairobi) all played numerous gay characters before. With Brian J. Smith, the cop, playing it the most, 2 gay films and 3 times on stage. I wonder if he's actually gay irl though.

I only watched 4 episodes so far, but this is the biggest surprise of TV this season. Everything about it is perfect. All 8 characters/storylines are more than interesting and i can't wait for them to interact more.

This needs to be renewed ASAP, Netflix is on Fire with quality lately
