Year of release: 2014, Genre(s): Dance Pop, Language(s) - English, Album - Mia Martina (2014)
Back-to-back Mia! Does the slayage ever stop? Anyway, I didn't like this at first listen, and I honestly don't know why. The breakdown is electropop deliciousness and Mia's vocals slay to the heavens. Although this song does slay me, I can still say this isn't Mia's best in my opinion. Not complaining, though!
I just hate how I'm the only one who loves Mia on here it seems. She's pretty, has amazing vocals, makes great songs...I don't know why people aren't rushing to stan.
Year of release: 2014, Genre(s): Dance Pop, Language(s) - Korean, Album - Error (2014)
Vixx. Here's a fun fact: They had the highest-peaking song out of both male and K-Pop acts on my chart last year (which I had made, but didn't use it), coming at #5 with Voodoo Doll. Ever since then, I've hailed them as one of my favorite K-Pop acts. Eternity then came out, and it disappointed me so much that I thought I'd write them off forever, but NOPE. Error came and I was pulled RIGHT back in!
This sounds exactly like everything Eternity tried to be, in my completely honest opinion. The song is catchy and emotional, the MV is strikingly brilliant and heartfelt, which is amazing considering the robot theme. I genuinely loved it and I actually nearly cried. It must be pretty easy to make me cry or something, but I was really moved.
With all that said, this wasn't even my favorite song on the Error mini album Which song was my favorite, then? I guess you'll just have to keep watch to find out.
Year of release: 2014, Genre(s): Pop, Language(s) - English, Album - I Did It (2014)
I am not completely sure how I found this song to begin with, as I am not a fan of SPICA (I hadn't even heard of them prior to listening to this song), but I found myself bopping more and more as I listened to it.
I found out later that they were a K-Pop girl group (who I don't think were all that successful?) and this song was their attempt at breaking into the English speaking market. To be honest, the song was not the problem. Let me outline the problems here:
The Problems
First, the CAPS. I personally believe they'd have more success if their name was stylized as "Spica". It's stylized as SPICA because there aren't under-case letters in Korean, but that just brings me to my next point.
They need to NAIL the English. The English was alright for what it's worth, but even if the beginning line "It's been way too long since I've been/Out for a night with my girrfriends". Pronunciation like that will not be helpful to you.
They also need to showcase the girls better. One girl was basically carrying the whole song because I'm assuming her English was the best out of the group. When I say NAIL the English, they ALL need to. Not just for the songs, but also for interviews, awards shows, etc. English-speaking markets are really harsh on foreign artists, so you basically have to make it seem like you've been here your whole life.
ANYWAY, now that I am done skull-dragging them, I really wanted them to be successful with this. I bet if a regular pop girl from the States released it, it would've been a Top 10 hit. It's just a fun, bubbly, summer pop song that radios would love.
"Drivin' in a car, with the windows rolled down just ridin with my crew~"
Year of release: 2014, Genre(s): Pop/Rap, Language(s) - Korean, Album - Skyfall (2014)
Oh man, where do I begin. I heard this song on DJ Digital's countdown (shocking! ) and in the preview, it had Minah's vocals. Her vocals in the preview made me interested in listening to the song, and it hit me, not like a truck, but like a slow-acting poison.
First, I appreciated the fact that Minah sounded good in the song. That's what made me play it again. Damiano's raps themselves are good, so I listened again. I then turned on the subtitles...and the poison took full effect.
I guess I find something really appealing in the tragic beauty of the battle of heart and mind when the heart is still deeply in love, and the mind knows that the other person is no good for them. You take that, and have it from both people's sides, who both feel the same way, and you have a brilliantly-executed pop/rap collaboration about having internal conflicts of love.
I do not connect with many songs based on lyrical content, let alone ones in a foreign language, but this is one of them. I simply adore everything about this song, and I would love for Minah to do something like it again.
*Although Damiano will not appear again on the countdown, Minah will with her girl group "Girl's Day"*
Year of release: 2013, Genre(s): Dance Pop/Dubstep, Language(s) - Korean, Album - XOXO (2013)
So I first heard this song on the Lucifer radio station I made on Pandora (Fun fact: SHINee's "Lucifer" is my favorite K-Pop song of all time as of now!), and I was like "Wow EXO, you got bops!", so I quickly ran to add this to my personal collection.
I'll be honest with you, idk why this is so high when I skip this song now and I still listen to Skyfall when it comes up, but oh well.

Year of release: 2014, Genre(s): Pop/Pop Rock (I guess? Like there's a guitar...), Language(s) - Korean, Album - Let's Love (2014)
C-CLOWN...oh man, what is there to say about them. Well, I'll talk about the song first - I didn't like it. At least not when I heard it the first time. Something about the chorus bugged me for some reason. I tried listening to it like two or three times and could never make it past the first chorus. Then, one day, I decided to try again...and I did it! I got past the first chorus and I got to see Rome shirtless! I think it was right then that the song clicked with me! I now start melting every time this song comes up on shuffle when I'm listening to my iTunes
After finally seeing the light and getting into this JAM, I watched their Crown the Clown series, and it just made me love them even more. My bias is Kangjun, although Rome is a close second. They all slay, though!
Omg I have so much more to say about them, but...I think it can wait.
Year of release: 2009, Genre(s): Pop, Language(s) - English, Album - Elise Estrada (2008)
Okay, this far into the countdown and I can finally explain why I have both "Year of release" and the year the album was released in parenthesis after the album: Year of release is for single dates! Obviously, not all songs on my year end are singles, so their year of release ends up being whenever the album was released, and most songs end up being released as singles the same year the album comes out, so that's why it hasn't happened until now.
ANYWAY, this is another song I heard on Pandora, although tbh I do not know what station it was. I just remember being like "Omg what is this iconic bop? " then running to YouTube to find it.
Elise looks like such a bad bitch in the MV to this song and I was just so slain that I looked into her discography to see if she had more bops. Unfortunately, she didn't. But this song still slays regardless!
Year of release: 2014, Genre(s): Pop, Language(s) - English, Album - Eleutheromaniac (2015) (I assume...)
I'll admit I don't really follow Neon Hitch, despite her making Ass Back Home listenable, and her song Gold being cute af. However, I think I should start because this song is really good imo! It's catchy, it's energetic, it's upbeat, and I think it's a low-key diss to her old label. (With the high-key diss being her song called Warner Blvd.)
Also, I'll be honest, I kind of live for her "trailer trash" image in the music video for Yard Sale.
"I'm havin a yard sale, givin' away all of the things that I used to call my own..."
Year of release: 2014, Genre(s): Pop, Language(s) - English, Album - Till Death Do Us Party (2014)
Omg guys, this is it. This is the last song you'll see from Adore Delano. I know y'all love ha and it's really hard, but we can do this!
This song was, to me, the sleeper hit of the album. I liked it at first listen, but just that. I thought it was okay, kept it in my library, and let it play when it came up on shuffle. Somewhere down the line, though, I fell in love with it. Maybe it's the infectious chorus, maybe it's the painstakingly relatable lyrics, maybe it's the fact that it's a cover of a song from the 80s, but something about this song just does it for me.
Out of all my friends that listen to Adore Delano, none of them have called this song a particular favorite of theirs, so I guess it's just me.
"Give me tonight, then if you don't wanna stay, girl I'll just forget you..."
Year of release: 2012 (I think?), Genre(s): Dance, Language(s) - English, Album - The Boy Can Dance (2012)
Okay, so most of y'all aren't going to like this, and I know because I made a thread about it and y'all were dragging it - comparing it to the Pokemon theme song (and the rebuttal that it was offensive to the Pokemon theme song ), but y'all can just not because this slays me. I still say gays should be popping their bussies to it in clubs but whatever. I'll just get life by myself.
"If he can dance, gimme gimme show him the real thing..."

Day 15s high scores, and well...I am running behind obviously. I think tomorrow I am just going to post 25-15 as to catch up on lost time. Anyway...Mia Martina has been dethroned, and Adore has reclaimed her #1 on the high scores throne. Getting 74 points today, she now has a year-end total of 241 points!
Outside of the Top 3, Afro-Dite debuts with 75 points, placing the group in 5th. 2 points behind, we have Neon Hitch with 73, and just behind her is Elise Estrada and C-CLOWN, with 72 and 71 points respectively.
Although C-CLOWN have the lowest debut today, they are the only act to appear today with at least one more entry on the chart, so where will they end up placing? How will the other acts with at least one more entry fare in comparison? Will I actually finish this year end?
ALL OF THESE QUESTIONS will be answered eventually...you'll just have to stay tuned to find the answers.
