@Slayley: What? Yas staaaan!!! @Red: Sometimes the more iconic ones can be the best. And I know that you know more artists than I do, probably some with more artsy/beautiful covers, so you have tha advantage with that. @joelovesmusic:
Not every successful artist is solo, and that definitely applied in '14. Bands and groups were still prominent, and these are my top 5 of the year.
5. The Script Biggest single:Breakeven Favorite song:Science & Faith Why they're great: I've always loved The Script, and their new release was a great one. They luckily got out of their rushed musical slump that #3 caused and returned to their roots.
4. One Direction Biggest single:What Makes You Beautiful Favorite song:Happily Why they're great: With their 4th album in 4 years, the boys managed to step up the maturity (again) as well as the quality with FOUR. The lead single might be one of the weaker tracks, but they definitely came through with the rest before the year ended.
3. Maroon 5 Biggest single:Moves Like Jagger Favorite song:She Will Be Loved Why they're great: They brought very amazing material for their 5th album, V. Adam and the team continued their unflawed discography with a release that had even more bops and longevity to boot.
2. 5 Seconds of Summer Biggest single:She Looks So Perfect Favorite song:Amnesia Why they're great: I've already explained my instant obsession with them before in another list. Their album is extremely strong and filler-free, which is amazing for a debut group that already has competition between others.
1. Karmin Biggest single:Brokenhearted Favorite song:Brokenhearted Why they're great: I've been in love with Amy & Nick for years and waited a long time for this numerously-delayed first LP. Luckily the wait was more than worth it, with an album that even puts their EP and covers to shame.
