I think you're misreading Luke's #s because I find it very unlikely he grossed more than Carrie's Blown Away tour with his first one.

But that's why I think it's different to judge country artists by venues since a lot just do Ampitheatres. Luke may have done MSG but nobody believes he's a bigger icon in country than Carrie.

I did misread his number. BB reported $45M here: http://m.billboard.com/entry/view/id/75186/i/24 I'm not sure if I'm interpreting it wrong, though.

Of course he's not a bigger icon than Carrie. Nobody in country music is, atm. But compared to HH, his gross does accurately portray how much bigger he is.

Average sales but the critical acclaim darling. Like will be the commercial success for country and be remembered more like Keith / Kenny for his impressive sales.

TBH I would just stick with the fact Play It Again entered the top 20 of country radio the week after it was released, which is hard to climb that high without an add date. Hunter Hayes Invisible has yet to enter the top 20 still

Let's also ignore the fact that Luke didn't even have a #1 Country Airplay single until 2010 while Hunter has had 3 on his previous album . Let's Not.

Also Do I only hit #2 on the US country airplay charts, and he only had 2 other top 10 country airplay hits the era before, not 3 #1's
