A Dance With Dragons is slaying me right now

For me I think the Dance with Dragons was a let down. Pretty sure it took me like 6 months + to finish that book
I'm so bad about buying books and not reading them.
Oh well, at least I do 95% of my book shopping at Half-Price Books and Goodwill so it's only ever a few dollars. I highly recommend The Goldfinch by Donna Tart, though it is like 700+ pages. WB has already bought the rights to a movie/mini-series tho.

Compared to the rest of the books in the series it's not half as good as the third book or the second but I don't know I just like it. Which book in the series do you like most?

I'm reading Night Film by Marisha Pessl at the moment which so far is a really gripping psychological thriller/mystery novel. I'm almost finished (read like 80%) and it's really solid.
Not a life-changing book by any means but a great psych-thriller.

I've just quickly read Hemmingway's The Old Man and The Sea and I'm really impressed. Was my first Hemmingway novel but his writing style was so poetic and beautiful and the story itself was so thought provoking and metaphorical despite the fact very little actually seemed to happen.
No idea what to read next. I bought a collection of Dickens novels as well as 3 of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's works so maybe something of those?

Its a great book where Kordale talks about his life struggles such as molestation, a emotionally absent and drug addict mother, being fatherless, a teen father, depression, suicide, coming out etc. Such a great read

I have to read The Road by Cormac McCarthy for school, has anyone read it?
Yes! I'm not typically a dystopian person, but Cormac McCarthy is such a wonderful writer. He won the Pulitzer for The Road, I believe. It's not as dry/dense as some of his other stuff (cough cough Blood Meridian, even though I love it). See the movie with Charlize Theron if you get a chance; it's also great.
