The U.S. doesnt have ships in Iranian territory though. They have them in international waters/at a base in Bahrain's territories, one of our allies in the gulf. Which is why the U.S. has responded by saying Iranians are free to naviage international waters, as long as they dont pass into our designated coast line boarders.
