It's hard with applicants because I really don't care about them but I try to sympathize with them because I know they just need a job. People are always like "are you hiring?" and even though I know we aren't, I will tell them we are and that they should fill out an application because it stays in the file for 90 days.

I didn't even try to get my job, I submitted my application online to Target and didn't even mean to send it to the store that hired me. I never went in or anything, I got hired somewhere else and forgot about it. Then Target called me and said they'd like to interview me and I quit my other job.

I work part time at a buffet: if we have a slow night we will literally freeze everything and serve it for lunch the next day. Its not so disgusting because its mainly just soups and salads but we promise only "the freshest" ingredients.

On the bright side: all the mexican restaurants I have worked at have been really good at cleaning. We cleaned the entire restaurant from floor to ceiling every night!

After reading this thread, I feel very paranoid now.
1. Some of you are so terrible to the customers Some are saints tho, I'd love getting free stuffs
2. Never knew shoplifting was that easy
3. I've not, and will never eat in McDonald's
4. All the application stories... now I'm glad that I've never tried to work in a food chain or retail store

Never mess with people who serve your food. Burger King likes to fry their fries over and over again after they have expired. McDonald's is by far the nastiest place I have ever worked at. An employee peed in a coffee pot once also everything on the menu like the meats is already prepared, and the eggs are actually a liquid. Also Wal-Mart treats their employees like ****. The Wal-Mart in my town only allows you to miss 3 days out of the whole year.
