A bit of a shame her studio voice isn't more distinctive, but sighhh whatevs.
Hopefully she keeps her image distinctive enough that people become interested in her as a star beyond her singles.
WTF!? The beginning sounds just like Katy. The second part of the verse sounds a just like Carly. And the hook sounds almost exactly like Kesha. Funny, because they are even in those positions in the music video, except for Kesha. Sorry, but Bonnie needs to get a recognizable voice. The voice in the chorus is a good start of where she can find an original studio voice.
After listening a few times today, it is basic, but catchy enough. Not crazy infectious like some of the other songs she's written by any means though. Still, I really just would like to see her have a hit. However, I'm not sure releasing a song first that sounds like Ke$ha singing over a hybrid of California Girls/CMM/Teenage Dream is going to do much for her individual presence as an artist.
I searched Bonnie McKee on YouTube and I listened to her flawless cover of Hold It Against Me.
The verses still sound like Kesha. But, Bonnie and Kesh are good friends so it doesn't matter.
Her other songs sound like her, though.
I guess it's an exception this time, but she better create her own pop voice, or the public will think Carly, Katy and Kesha have been doing quite a bit of duets.

Their voices do share similar nuances, but that's only because this is the first time a lot of people have heard her studio voice. I've listened to her old album, so I don't think she sounds like anyone else. Just let people get used to another voice in the pop industry.
However, I will say, her voice is the cleanest out of Kesha, Katy, and Carly, which does make her sound a bit generic (Carly has a breathy tone, Kesha uses a lot of exaggerated long vowels and Katy has a slight country drawl at times).

finally a new summer jam the lyrics are memorable but for some reason i expected the pre-chorus to be more funky like in acoustic performance .this song better launch her solo career

did all these stars actually send her videos of themselves singing her song? 
only disappointing thing is she has written so many hits that are better than this.
