Thrid and last appearance from Katy! I liked the song
at the first time but I thought that it wasn't strong
enough like the rest of her singles... again. I have to
say that the main reason Katy didn't made it to the top
50 was exactly because the three songs (TOTGA,
Wide Awake and POM) get old really fast, they
weren't as powerful as the other singles, for me of
course. The video was great but it turned out to be
more like an ad for the army. |

I still don't get why many fans hate the "new sound" of
LP, which isn't that new. I'm with the idea that a band's
sound has to evolve, more than anything, to
something more mature. And LP are a great example
of this kind of evolution. "Burn It Down" was no
exception and they delivered, with an amazing video
(#24 on the Videos list). And even though I didn't like
that much the rest of the singles, as much as the ones
from A "Thousand Suns", I still applaud their amazing
career. Congrats! |

Lovely discovery from this past year. I fell in love with
the song, I don't even know how to describe it. I'm
looking for more from her music, because she came
unexpectedly, and now with Zedd's collaboration in
"Clarity". The video is really original and funny. I
recommend you to check at least this song. |

So I was a hater of Bruno in the past, because all of
his songs were cheesy and corny as hell, ugh. The
fact that his entire album was played at the radio
irritated me more, and all of them were this kind of
generic ballads. Just hell. So I didn't even care to
check his new single until it was played yes, on the
radio. And wow, I was completely amazed. I love
80's music, and this Police vibe that he added, with
the mix of "modern" beats, was just amazing. One of
the most original songs ever, oh and I love the lyrics
haha. Just genius, congrats Bruno! |

I wasn't surprised when the flopped, because it today's
music, there's no room for bands anymore, even if
they have a legendary status. Nevertheless, No Doubt
delivered a perfect first single. I'm not a complete fan
of their music, but their most representative hits are
great, although I gotta say that it was kinda hard to
get into "Settle Down". It is the perfect summer jam.
Sadly, I didn't like the other singles, but it was great
for the fans that they came back. |

Icona Pop slayed me once again. These girls have
a great future, of course if they plan to internationalize
their career. Their songs are just outta of this world,
one of the most catchy productions ever. "I Love it"
could have smashed so well during the summer, but
can't do anything about it. Wish them all the luck! |

Another great discovery from this year. I like this kind
of bands and music haha, and they look so funny.
Love the video, and the song is catchy in it's own way,
hope the hear more from them soon, even though
their last single I didn't like it as much as "Get Burned".
I could recommend similar bands like Grouplove,
Youngblood Hawke, don't remember more at the
moment. |

This guy is really rocking the EDM scene, I just love
his productions. And even though I'm not fond of
Example's last music ("Won't Go Quietly" was
amazing) this collaboration was really great. The
video still doesn't make any sense, but the song
remains great. On the other hand, though, I still think
that Calvin is getting predictable, well, because his
songs are almost the same. Even my brother, who
doesn't know him but "Feel So Close", told me when
he heard this song if it was the same guy from FSC.
Yeah, he better find out new beats. More from
Calvin's productions to come! |

I found this band back in March, and even though
I'm not completely into rock alternative, this one is
a great song to sing loud... although I still can't find
the lyrics, and the fact that, from what I understand,
he's like telling a story but from the point of view of
the girl makes it kinda weird to sing. Specially some
parts like (something along these lines) "scream up
your name boy!". Uhm, yeah. But whatever, the song
is great. |

So you've already seen that I love songs with this
oldie or vintage style. Well then, I love even more
those songs that has 80's influence, so I instantly
liked this song. Just everything about it, even the
video (which was kinda "try hard" to be funny") has
this 80's vibe that I love. So, these were Arkells,
closing the last set from the first half of the BEST 100! |

Linkin Park didn't disappoint with Burn It Down,
I totally loved that sound.
Locked Out of Heaven sounds so 80-s, but it is
so refreshing at the same time. I am glad it got
to #1. It's so deserving and nice to see such a
different song on top for a change.
Settle Down  I just wish it performed
better on the charts, but it doesn't matter. No Doubt
fans were pleased and they did not let us down
