Obviously Adele, but on ATRL this is like asking who's your fave.

However, ATRl for the most part is reflective of the general public. If she has the most fans here that means she probably (duh) has the most fans period. Most fans = biggest pop star, no?

Proved my point about the whole stan voting thing. Too bad with all the fans she has, she isn't selling like Adele.

Well an extremely large number of Adele's album sales are from simple casual listeners rather than "fans". Haven't you noticed her fanbase has very little internet presence? Her Twitter only has abut 7.5 million followers, and those are worldwide. Adele doesn't sell to a fanbase like "Born This Way" did, she sells to the average person.
Additionally, Gaga has almost 4 times the Twitter followers and over 20 million more Facebook fans, suggesting higher overall popularity. Furthermore, the 99 tour dates Adele was able to complete grossed a cumulative total under $20 million - had her label expected a larger demand they likely would have at least bumped up her venues a little higher than a 4,000-person average. Of course, she may have been hurt in ticket sales with much larger venues due to the fact that she does not do choreography or detailed theatrical performances and chooses mainly to sing.
Adele will always have a more widespread appeal, and in that sense more popularity, but will never attract the sort of "stans" that other acts attract on a large scale. Because of the passion that Gaga brings out in her famously-dedicated and very large fanbase, the passion which her opponents display so widely and loudly, the fact that almost everyone knows her name and has an opinion on her, and her still-constant presence in news and culture, I would argue that in many ways Gaga is still the bigger star at this relative time.

Well am I wrong? Like someone else said, No one really thinks about Gaga anymore right now (general public) It's obvious. It's been a long time since I've heard someone in public/school discussing her, and I hear Rihanna, JB, and and Katy's name all the time...

Well one's personal experiences don't necessarily represent the whole world at the moment - I personally see/hear people around my location talking about Gaga the most by far, but I don't use that as a reason supporting why I think she's the biggest, because obviously different areas have different people whose preferred topics vary.

Adele is completely inactive right now, so the only blip on her radar is her fetus. As we know from experience, that only garners you momentary attention which means nothing down the line.
So, Gaga. She's not far ahead of KP and Rihanna though, which is sad.

What does it matter if Adele has casual listeners and Gaga has a crazier fanbase? More casual fans than stans still fits with the word bigger.
Now your social media argument confuses me, it kinda conflicts with your casual fans vs stans argument. Anyways, of course Adele doesn't have the same Facebook likes/ followers, she blew up long after Gaga did. What would you expect Adele to jump to 40 million likes in 6 months? It took Gaga a while to aquire those likes/followers. They both have the same amount of weeks at #1 on the Social 50.
Let's look at YouTube. Her videos are doing A LOT better, and her's are a lot more simple. Hell there are some of her live performances that have more views than each of Gaga's recent music videos.
Adele only had one tour. No one grosses 100 million on their debut tour.
There is a reason why Gaga made that tweet about Adele. Even if it was a joke. She wouldn't have tweeted it if it wasn't at least partially true.

You're trying too hard to discredit Adele.
1. Adele appeals to a different demographic that would be less likely to use Twitter and social media
2. Adele chose smaller venues out of preference, not out of fears that people would not attend her show.
3. Making comments about her lack of dancing and theatrical performances in an attempt to discredit her is pathetic. She's wildly successful just the way she is.
4. Stop trying to come up with excuses.
Only in your warped reality can somebody sell over 2 times as many albums with her latest release, score multiple radio hits, achieve multiple Grammy awards, and still be inferior to Lady Gaga.

I mean, all Gaga had to do was privately bid on an Alexander McQueen dress and she made headlines all over the world.

Valid argument, but people seem to always forget that Gaga has won more awards and has sold more records than Adele, even with the massive success of "21".
From an objective standpoint, I'll say Gaga. I don't feel like Adele cares all that much about fame. I can see her settling down with her new baby and disappearing until she wants to release a new album. Gaga wants the fame and she does what she can to stay in the spotlight, and it works. Gaga's already a touring act, so she'll be around for many, many years to come.

Gaga did.
Gaga has more Youtube video views, Twitter followers, and Facebook "likes". You guys aren't looking at the whole picture, just the picture that is now. Gaga made that tweet because she's aware of Adele's slayage, but she's not bothered by it. She's happy for Adele because she likes when women who are talented succeed.

In 2010, I can say Lady GaGa. In 2011 was Katy Perry. And this year, it's Adele.

No, TFM was her 2nd tour.
Of course Gaga has more views she has 4X the videos. Majority of her views for from previous eras.
Death at you telling us to "look at the whole picture" and not "just the picture that is now" when the thread is title "Biggest pop star at the moment"

No, The Monster Ball Tour was her first headlining world tour. The Fame Ball became The Monster Ball when demand began to rise and Gaga transitioned from theaters and arenas. It was all the same tour.
And oh... I totally looked over "at the moment". I still think Gaga. Tour ticket sales > album sales > single sales. Gaga has all three, whereas Adele only has two at the moment, granted her album sales are massive enough to kind of, sort of make up for her tour.
But you're going to go against Gaga like you always do, so I don't think your opinion is very objective.
Gaga's currently on a media blackout and has been doing nothing but touring, yet is making headlines left and right. She can't even privately bid on a dress without it making headlines. Adele remains hidden until something big, like her pregnancy, happens. The media is focused more on Gaga, Gaga currently has more Youtube views, Twitter followers, and Facebook likes.

No. The Fame Ball and The Monster Ball are two entirely seperate tours.
No, my arguments are very objective. This isn't a Gaga vs Adele thread, this is a Gaga vs everyone else thread. I voted for Adele over my fav. You voted for your fav. You sound very biased.
About social media, refer to my previous argument and actually response to it or don't bring it up again.
