The event will be held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco and is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM Pacific / 1:00 PM Eastern. The tagline on the invitation is simply "It's almost here."

There's clearly a "5" in the shadow of the invitation, suggesting that Apple's next iPhone will indeed be called the iPhone 5.

Well they called the 5th gen 4S so clearly they're going with what makes sense based on previous naming as opposed to naming after the generation I mean the last time they did that was the 4 so clearly they've abandoned it. Pluss iPhone 5 is just much better.

1G - iPhone
2G - iPhone 3G
3G - iPhone 3GS

5G - iPhone 4S
6G - iPhone 5?

Lmao. Watch them still call it "the new iPhone". It's too weird for them to call the iPad, the new iPad, and not call the iPhone, the new iPhone. Unless they found a problem with the name.

I think/hope Apple has realized how lame it was to call it "the new ipad" - I doubt they will repeat the same mistake with the new iPhone.

Numbers become redundant. After you pass 5, it sounds weird as hell. Like iPhone 9 doesn't flow as well as just calling it iPhone which people are gonna call it anyways.

How long after a conference does it usually take for apple products to hit stores. Example, the conference is on 12th of September. How long will it take for Iphone to hit stores?!

Also, does the Iphone release WW on the same date or does the U.S. get the product first. If US does get it first on usual circumstances, when does the rest of the world usually get the product?!

Any experience Apple buyers who can share this information with me, it would be appreciated!

It kinda varies but I think the phones are released 10-21 days after their announcement. And AT&T gets their marketing material on the 20something (I need to find my source tho) so the iPhone will probably drop any day beween 20-25.

It goes WW in several countries on the same day. Not a LOT of countries but the countries with the biggest phone markets.
