I agree. NONE of today's stars are "icons" or viewed as such in the real world outside the stanbases.
Michael, Barbara, Madonna, Tina, David and a select others are the only musical figures with such a distinction. An icon is someone whose inspired and left an imprint for musicians of later decades to follow.
NONE of our faves have reached that level of respect yet.
That's not an Icon, that's a Legend. You don't know the definition either and you clearly live under the rock because the media has been labeling her both an Icon & Legend since the success of IASF.
