Rappers/urban artists tend to lead the nominations because they can submit almost everywhere. A lot of pundits have been placing Kanye at the bottom of the contender lists.

"Whataya Want From Me" is the better song out of the song, but Bruno is obviously a better vocalist, and seeing how it was more about vocals than the song itself, he deserved it.
Duca sis..let's not. Bruno can't TOUCH Adam with a 50 foot pole when it comes to range, clarity, and tone. Bruno struggles and strains even on studio versions (IWR). Let's not. The ONLY reason Bruno won that award is because Adam was STILL facing the backlash from the AMA's. And that's true tea
There have been other great R&B albums released during the year, but because they weren't successful, they won't get nominations. Beyonce would have the best chance at getting that "spot," which is why I don't think it will happen. Beyonce would be too obvious of a choice. Plus, she has had a so-so year. The voters are iffy with crossover R&B stars who underperform, but I would welcome a 4 nomination.
Beyonce is a Grammy veteran as well and they usually tend to to be favorites amongst voters. But we'll see.
Adele will most likely sweep but I'm just crossing my fingers that Bey doesn't get snubbed like the B'Day era. 5 nominations and a 2/5 or 3/5 win is good with me...

Best Pop Vocal Performance isn't about who the better vocalist is. It's about the best pop song with vocals on it.

Bruno's voice is smooth, soothing, and he has a great range.
Adam sometimes tends to oversing to the point of screaming, even though his high notes can be impressive.
