I love bey and Lemonade is flawless, but the fact that some people don't realize how local that era is. None of my friends have heard songs from Lemonade, some of them know about its existence only because of me (I live in Holland).

The album is nowhere to be found besides itunes and Tidal and it has sold 1.5M WW.

Adele was everywhere on a WORLDWIDE SCALE.

I even have a roomate who is a huge beyonce fan and she always listens to her old music (the hell) and I told her about Lemonade and she was like yeah I know it, but I haven't listened to it yet, wtf is wrong with her

Something "feeling" bigger is completely contextual to you, your environment and friends. I thought Work was for sure a Mega UK number 1 because of the reception it got in all of the pop/RnB clubs I went to. Some DJs played it twice, any house party I went to would play it.

I've never heard Lukas Graham's 6 years in full and I believe he blocked Rih. The first time I heard Closer was at the VMAs.

Yes, Lemonade feels bigger than 25 to me, which kind of ended after Hello. So does Anti, Dangerous Woman, Views, Blond and even ASATT. I don't know why people ran in here to post sales figures?

How many people outside of the group of people who follow pop culture know about Lemonade? Or anything about Lemonade apart from the fact that it was released? Literally everyone and their grandma knows at least "Hello, it's me" and I hear many people complain how SML is literally the only thing they heard on the radio during summer (mostly people who don't give a **** about Adele at all, including my friends). 25 was a phenomenon and the first weeks were abo****ely insane thanks to 25 + Hello slaying together, but no, it didn't end with Hello. SML was huge and everywhere too. Can't say that about Lemonade.

In terms of sales, no. As regards impact, Lemonade wins hands down. 25 is just 21 2.0 and nothing made any impact sans Hello. Lemonade is greater than the sum of its parts. It was quite the event, though not as much as ST. I'm the first to admit Lemonade is not great (I'm a huge Bey fan) but its impact cannot be denied.

Some of y'all are talking sales, and some of y'all era's. Adele really just had one super huge song/comeback and the best selling album. Like crazy and all that. But nothing more. Beyoncé on the other hand made more headlines, she has; Formation (another 'hit') Lemonade (great sales & reviews) and the formation world tour (she did that) but Beyonce never gives me 'Era' with her albums. Its like we're still in the ms carter era or whatever.

Lemonade is a cultural phenomenon. It's big in real world, not just charts and radio. I know this will get laughed at, but it's true. Beyonce in last 3 eras is an absolute goddess in terms of impact and success. The charts simply fail to reflect that because her songs are not your standard radio fodder. And no, the same doesn't apply to all your flop faves. Only very select few.
