Pedro's Best Of 2010 || Artists (20-11) + Videos (CC)
Hello Guys and Welcome to my Best Of 2010!
The time of the year where everyone gives a glimpse of everything that happened through the year! It was a good year for music overall and I can't wait to share with all of you my charts.

Let's keep with my Top 50 Best Artists Of 2010! I tried to put all my bias behind and name some of the artists, that I might not be a big fan of, but in fact they had quite a year! Also I am gonna show you which videos ALMOST made the Top 50 of my Top 50 Best Videos Of 2010!

This year we had so many amazing artists, they did all a great job and much more than the ones I am going to mention deserved to have at least a little appearance but oh well! The time isn't enough! I tried to put on my list the artists that were relevant for positive things and hopefully you agree with me!

REASON: McFly had better years like the last one but, I only started paying a little attention to them this year since I've been to their concert (they performed at Rock In Rio Lisbon same day as Miley Cyrus). The vocalist is super hot and cute and they know how to rock the house, fourtunately they also became more Pop, and that helps a lot. I believe this is a fair position for them, I am not a fan but they have been doing good!
REASON: I need to confess, I am not a huge fan of Muse, I really like them and I believe they are an original band, they are inside the Top 40 due to their impressive success with the last album, they are really becoming huge! I haven't payed much attention to them since "Uprising" but they have had big numbers not only when it comes to selling records but also selling tickets!
REASON: Alexandra is such an amazing artist, she has an incredible voice, great songs and knows how to move! Triple threat! Her songs are so catchy and so Pop and Fierce, she is fierce as a icon as well. I find her very beautiful as well, unfourtunately I do not think she has been that big during this year so I can't place her higher.
REASON: I still dislike this man a little since he is part of one of the worst songs I've ever heard, "Billionaire". I am glad he recovered and launched some good songs like "Just The Way You Are" and "Grenade". I seriously can't stand "Billionaire", and his part is the most annoying. I kinda dislike him but let's state facts, he had a great year he was such a revelation and everyone seems to like him.
REASON: One other big new artist. Drake has been showing who is the boss for a while, I haven't paied much attention to him, but his songs are catchy, funny and cool! He deserves to be Top 40 due to his big success during the year. The man's face is hideous though  . His voice can get a little annoying too, but that's okay, because as I said the songs are catchy!
REASON: Is it just me or Linkin Park since "Minutes To Midnight" have been getting worse and worse? I mean I love some songs like "Leave Out All The Rest", "Shadow Of The Day", "Bleed It Out", "Waiting For The End", etc. BUT they are not what they used to be, they are so different right now, I don't know what happened. They are a iconic band already so it was obvious I needed to include them here  .
REASON: If it wasn't for my big love for "Impossible", Shontelle wouldn't even be a Close Call. She flopped so bad and "Perfect Nightmare" is nothing amazing. I am glad she released "Impossible" to make me pay attention to her, the song is really emotive and beautiful. I hope she has something that can save her career, because things aren't easy nowadays, principally if Britney Spears, Beyoncé and Lady GaGa are launching new albums next year.
REASON: The new country guys! They have had an amazing year due to "Need You Now" success and that's why they are so high. I actually prefer "Hello World" to any other single from them, but I doubt they are gonna be big for much longer... maybe they'll because they don't sing Pop.
REASON: An iconic band! It is more than necessary to include them in a Best Of Artists, they are probably one of the few old bands that I appreciatte and do not mind listening! "What Do you Got?" is kind of generic, but it's okay. I am not a huge fan but I gotta show respect for them!
REASON: Another new artist. Florence + The Machine were probably the biggest revelation of the year, they are enormous and "Dog Days Are Over" is all over the place, I believe the success is deserved although I am not a huge fan since Florence has an original and creative look and she has a different kind of music, originality is what makes the difference nowadays!
REASON: From now on, I admit my preference had a big influence. Otherwise Jessica Simpson wouldn't be standing here at all, I am just a big fan of hers. She hadn't any success this year, she flopped pretty bad with her Christmas album eventhough the album is perfection. She needs to give us something unique to make people gain interest on her, I'll be here waiting Jessica.
REASON: Leona Lewis is kind of a Jessica Simpson Pt. II, if it wasn't my preferences she wouldn't be standing here. But she actually released two singles and a DVD of her successful tour. I am glad she isn't a flop with all the letters, she deserves a lot of success, not only because of her voice but also because of her person, she is such a kind human being. I love this woman a lot, hope better years are yet to come!
REASON: Yea  Jessica Simpson Pt. III, Ciara is becoming a bigger flop everyday and it's hard to watch because she is an amazing entertainer, her dance moves slay me HARD. And "Gimme Dat" is one of the best songs released this year, besides being catchy it is so dancy and fast! Although she flopped and will continue, her singles made me love her more, and that's why she is so high .
REASON: Promising act, indeed. Willow could be higher if she had release anything else, but she only released "Whip My Hair", that I must say I hated in the beginning. Anyway, I can't wait for her new single, I hope she surprises me because this girl is so talented, yet so young. Hope she doesn't have a breakdown like those other young girls.
REASON: Although I lost most of my interest on Usher, he had quiet a year. I can't believe "OMG" was so big, because I just don't see HIT written on it. Anyway I am happy for him becaus I thought his career had died since "Confessions". Anyway, due to his success he managed to get so high here.
REASON: Did y'all think I was gonna leave Miss Britney Spears out of my Best Of? Of course not, that would be criminal, although Britney did absolutely nothing this year, "3" kept on doing its work and I jammed to her songs every single day, so it was obvious Queen Spears was gonna make my Best Of Artists, and believe me when I say I left all my bias behind, otherwise, Britney would be MUUUUCH higher!
REASON: Oh boy, if y'all knew how much love I have for this woman... I find her so beautiful and so freakin' talented. "Poison" blew me away, not only the song is freaking fierce and powerful, but the choreography of the video/live performances were so ****ing epic! Although she only had this single, she really deserves this place. (Thanks to my taste's influence)
REASON: I am not a big fan of David's work, BUT, this year he did some great things like "Gettin' Over You" and "Who's That Chick", that pratically made him get Top 30 almost Top 20. "Who's That Chick" is for me one of his best productions, awesome job. Unfourtunately due to my taste he can't go higher, because I find him extremely overrated, and to be honest many of his songs sound so alike  .
REASON: I believe it's impossible for Beyoncé to make a pause for a whole year, she needs to do at least a video, a song or a concert each year, she just can't stop, that can be positive or negative. Positive for her fans that love new music or just to know she is active, negative to the normal people/people who dislike her that will eventually get sick of her. Anyway, I am looking forward her next album and "Why Don't You Love Me" is great!
REASON: He actually had a better last year but this year he kept on going and "Whataya Want From Me" had a lot of impact, definetely one of the most played tracks on the radio in my country. "If I Had you" didn't have the success it deserved, but it did alright, the video is really cool! I wonder what Adam is gonna do next!
REASON: What an awesome year to miss Alicia Keys! She (as usual) had amazing sales with her last album "The Element Of Freedom" and was mom for the first time, this is more than enough to make the top 20, but she also made a great video and stood up for some amazing causes! What an amazing artist and person.
REASON: After he got my full hate on him for being a bad loser, it was impossible for it to go lower so now it's growing again, dispise all of his stupidity, this guy KNOWS how to make Hip Hop fun and not all the same, I really enjoyed his last music, "Monster" is somewhat disgusting but his two first singles are pretty good. I must say this place is due to his status and success because if it was my taste, he would be lower. Kanye had a nice year and I think it's time to forgive him. Oh and by the way I did not watch his movie.
REASON: Last year when I saw Sama doing a Best Of Glee Songs I was like "what the hell is this?" but now I got him, they are so great and know how to make perfect covers, this place is counting ONLY the program's first season, since I am waiting for Portugal to start airing season two (STARTING JANUARY, 9TH) and I will finally see BRITNEY SPEARS in my TV. Their "Toxic" cover is HOT! They did amazing this year!
REASON: Maroon 5 are one of my favorite bands of all time. Their music is incredibly amazing and Adam Levine is my dream guy so they have everything to be in this list. Their last album charted on my "Best Albums of 2010" and "Misery" kinda overperformed but it did enough to make the band chart at this place! I wish Maroon 5 came to Portugal, they have some success here and I believe they would sell out, I wish they read this  .
REASON: I have mad respect for this woman so eventhough she didn't do that well in the charts, I need to place her in a high place! I still don't get why did "Get Outta My Way" underperformed that song has everything to be a hit, maybe people are just not into her anymore :/, sad! I love her a lot and her album is quite good! I admit my taste is being very influencive here but now it gets harder to be as fair as before.
REASON: DIVA. She is the one 'n only, the ultimate DIVA of our generation. She is so awesome and she had quit a year as well, not in the charts though BUT she is pregnant finally! I am kinda worried actually what if she isn't capable of recovering her image?  Oh My Im not here for the constant bashing to Mariah's weight. Anyway! Mariah's Christmas album was perfect and "Angels Cry" is beautiful, she needed to be high here!
REASON: As I've said the flop part does not influence my love for her or the quality of her stuff. She had a sad year in fact, a flop album a divorce and some people are being harsh on Burlesque. I haven't seen the movie, gonna do it really soon, but it hasn't premiered in my country. I seriously hope better times for her are in the way, I feel bad for her.
REASON: One other artist that has been eaten alive by the media! She was 2010 Britney Spears but from UK! She was ALL OVER the news, not because of her music but because of her personal life, she got malarya and she just like Christina, got divorced! Guys, time to realize marriage are so last summer. I enjoyed the music she delivered and I find her beautiful! Let's not forget, unlike Christina Aguilera, Cheryl Cole did have much success!
REASON: The new BIG artist! Nicki Minaj is being very sucessfull and I must say she is so high due to it, I haven't liked her album that much, but she has come a long away and I do not get the Lady GaGa comparisations! She is so different from her! Anyway, she is very original and most people are enjoying her music, she is also a character which helps her promotion! Good Job Nicki!
REASON: To close this set, we have the sexy latin, Enrique Iglesias. He had a great year, a huge hit, "I Like It" and some others in latin countries, and his album has been doing fine, so this together with all my love for him would get to this! He almost made the Top 10, but the following artists had just a little more than him! He is one of the only latin artists with decent music (besides Queen Shakira of course), I hate when those english speakers think they spanish and start doing spanish albums or hits translations. I love Enrique and I hope he keeps being successful for a LONG TIME!

There were so many awesome videos this year, they are countless and it broke my heart to not being able to add more videos on the list but just like the last Top, I don't have that many time to do so many banners or decisions. Yeah, the decisions were tough, I was so undecided! But I think I got this year's Best Videos, check it out! Unfourtunately not all could make the top 50 so I decided to make a Top 10 that ALMOST made the cut, check it out!
REVIEWS
- Natasha Bedingfield - Touch: What I really love about this movie, is how she sings and the same exact things she is singing happens in the video like "I was trying to cross the street when I tripped and spilled my coffee..." and that actually happens. I love how she makes the action of touching being so decisive, sometimes one only single touch can make many things happen! (1st of Two Appeareances from Natasha Bedingfield)
- Ne-Yo - One In a Million: I am not a big fan of him but I really like this music video, he made a sequel of three videos and this is the ONLY one I really liked and was interesting. "Beautiful Monster" isn't bad but not enough, I love this kind of videos, and all the choreography helps a lot! Ne-Yo surprised me with this video! (1st of One Appeareance from Ne-Yo)
- Avril Lavigne - Alice: This such a great video, but unfourtunately is a sequel of things that happen in the movie "Alice In Wonderland" and sometimes (most of the times), it makes the video a little less interesting, nevertheless, I love the artistic side of this video and Avril looks really beautiful! (1st of One Appeareance from Avril Lavigne)
- Jack Johnson - At Or With Me: Jack did an okay job with this video, and showed us he can act! This video has the special appeareance from Andy Samberg, who makes fun of Jack and Johnson gets mad and beats his ass up! A cool fight between two guys! He surprised me. (1st of One Appeareance from Jack Johnson)
- Natasha Bedingfield - Strip Me: I love the artist side of this video, it's different and I love all the costume changes. What I love about Natasha is that she is such an happy person, she is always smilling and that makes the video even better, not to mention the song is beautiful! Unfourtunately none of her videos were enough to make the Top 50. (2nd of Two Appeareances from Natasha Bedingfield)
- Ke$ha - Take It Off: The annoying thing about Ke$ha is that she makes bad videos for excellents songs. This video is her best and the only that is gonna appear, I love the special effects when people go against eachother and she actually looks really classy for the first time! Good job overall, but I am expecting better from her. (1st of One Appeareances from Ke$ha)
- Florence + The Machine - Dog Days Are Over: So I am not a fan at all of this band, and Florence creeps me out in this clip, nevertheless it's a great artistic video and needed some recognization. Great way of showing off! (1st of One Appeareances from Florence + The Machine)
- JoJo - In The Dark: JoJo as y'all know released a mixtape this year and this is the best song from it. I am glad she chose this to be the single from that mixtape, the song's title is the video's face, it's a very dark video but a very sexy video, I am sad I couldn't allow it to go Top 50, because its sexuality is great! (1st of One Appeareances from JoJo)
- Kelly Rowland - Commander: I swear I wanted to put Kelly higher due to the amazing outfits of this clip, but if it wasn't the choreography the video would suck :/. Anyway it ALMOST made the Top 50. She will surely be lot higher in my Best Of Choreographies Of 2010, so Kelly fans don't worry! (1st of One Appeareances from Kelly Rowland)
