Wow. I am...disgusted at the utter disrespect shown to "Thinking About You" in this rate. Give it another listen and get your lives, heathens! Why can't you just let Whitney be black and happy?

"Why Does It Hurt So Bad?" is also rather nice. I love the "hurt so, hurt so, hurt so bad" outro to the chorus.

There's a somewhat compelling emotional urgency to "Try It On My Own," but everything else eliminated today was boring.

Yeah, Supa. I believe "Thinking About You" was affected by "I don't know her syndrome." A few peeps probably played it once and gave it a middle to low score.

In case anyone is around, and given that the sever is cooperating thus far, we will eliminate a few songs today. I'll start in maybe 20-25 minutes. Here are a few highlights:

- A couple of people will lose their 11s
- conatus will be quite happy and quite mad about a couple of songs getting the boot

- The single with the most ONE(s) and ZERO(s) scores bids adieu
- A song with 8 TENS and one 11 is kicked to the curb

Here we go...

Count on me was Whitney's second single taken from the Waiting to Exhale soundtrack. It celebrates enduring and long lasting friendhips, especially between/among women. Its top ten success allowed the critically acclaimed gospel legend known as CeCe Winans to finally enjoy some crossover pop success on both sides of the Atlantic.

Billboard called this song "torchy." Kasiokas agrees, calling it simply "beautiful". Connor disagrees, and calls it soporific, saying that "in case there's ever a global shortage of NyQuil, at least we have this song." I'll have to side with him on this one, as it bores me to death, and it is probably the only song by Nippy that dislike to some extent.

That's the thing. The fact that the GP and radio stations were so enamoured with her slow songs kinda dictated the material that she recorded.

Whenever she had fun, as she did in How Will I Know and I Wanna Dance, she was glorious. And it is evident that people wanted more of that; both songs sold more than most of her ballads (with the exception of the main theme from the Bodyguard).

A polarizing song that would've been bigger (and better) if they had promoted its dance remix instead of its literally melodramatic original version.

I've been saying. Her poppier material was so good, regardless of how anti-pop you are. How Will I Know is SENSATIONAL. And I've always been of the controversial opinion that Whitney was hollow vocally at times - on a lot of the ballads, I'm not moved emotionally, more overwhelmed by the voice. On her dancier songs, every word felt sincere and authentic.
