Ah, yes, the classic defensive "But, look! Everyone did worse!" response. Just because you can run off a list of artists who have done "worse than Gaga," doesn't make "ARTPOP" a successful album. The large amount of professional publications that used the term "ARTFLOP" is telling in itself. "ARTPOP" was not successful, and the public did not connect with it in any way, so Lady Gaga is "resigning from pop music." I'm not making this stuff up, kids. It's literally just basic observation.

ARTPOP was going to be trap so we'll see
I'm sure it will have that Gaga-pop feel though

If you want to hear her ballads and 'rock esque' songs, look at her early demos with Fusari. There's a handful of them on YT and it was her initial goal to sound like that anyways
On another note she needs to upload Nothin On and all the leftover Artpop leftovers

She must be struggling to find a sound that suits her, but will also do well on the charts. In doing so, she might lose her remaining fans.
Xtina is similar tbh.

"Look at all these people who THINK the album flopped!!!!!"
"The GP didn't connect to it in any way!!!!!"
Meanwhile, the era generated a profit and had more success than many other still-successful artists, and you dancing around the actual cold, hard facts doesn't make your "basic observation" any more legitimate or noteworthy.
Have a nice day, Vin, we're done here.

Why did you leave that part? Trolling at it's finest. Embarrassing.

TEOG does not sound like a ballad to me, more like a mid tempo?

But if we are to say whether ARTPOP was a success or flop, you have to compare it in the climate music currently is in. The people Retro mention have all done worser than Gaga's latest. They damn sure didn't get two platinum singles from their eras. So to say ARTPOP was a flop is a messy statement to even make. The album was commercially successful, producing 2 top ten songs, one being an actual single. 3 top 40 songs, two being an actual single. And two platinum singles. The decline is clear, but other artist wish they could have ARTPOP success.

I thought about Xtina too. What happened to Xtina in ten years happened to Gaga in 4/5
We wanted experimental in Bionic, but since it was mostly dated and tacky, we wanted hits after and play mainstream, but she didn't live up to it... Then we got Lotus
Now were hoping she goes back organically
Basically there's a creative conflict in their careers
Rise up X, we'll lift u up
U too Lower East Side Germanotta

Now would be a perfect time to make up with Fusari. Give us a disco and classic rock infused album queen!
