Many people clearly don't have to the knowledge or right to and should just stay in their lane

That's hardly how the conversation went. Interesting how the people defending Taylor have to exaggerate and bend the truth to make Nicki look like she's in the wrong

"If your body celebrates women with slim bodies, you will get VOTY." Please stop trying to twist the words of Nicki to make your argument look better. It's not cute. As said before, Nicki has been talking about the media favoring skinny girls in the defense of Anaconda for the past year. This time is no different. None of this had anything to do with Taylor Swift. It didn't a year ago, and it doesn't now.

Like how do the girls not get it. Love Nicki but this is her fault (well Taylor did blow it way out of proportion as it wasn't about her) but Nicki...it's only the VMAs and if 50% of the VOTY nominees weren't minorities she would have MAYBE had a point.

That wasn't me implying that you're racist, friend. It was me calling you a hypocrite.
Whether you like it or not, appropriation is real. Britney, Justin, and Christina have done it several times in their career. Britney wanted to b-ball with Snoop and work with R. Kelly and the Ying Yang Twins, but where is her black lives matter tweet? Justin wanted to be so in love Janet, but he didn't waste a moment's time to throw her under the bus over something he did. Christina wanted to wear dreads with Redman but where is she when black voices are being silenced?
You can be wrong and defend Taylor all you want, but you will not attack Nicki for pulling the "race card" when it "benefits" her when literally every white artist you stan for has done, and continues to do, the same.

liberal white people find it hard to fight accusations of racism, so they go with the other side.

Because she is?
Her arguments about racism & the media are not unreasonable, but this situation was not ABOUT them at all until after she got called out, by Taylor. Nicki had to think something up, and that seemed like the easiest thing.
It's obvious.

The media is siding with Onika because she's right. That's all there is to it. MTV has defecated on black artists all the time. They notably snubbed Rihanna during her Loud era, with NO nominations for ANY of the album's material (even the album was a landmark album in pop music that year, shifting over 6 million copies and spawning #1s like Only Girl, What's My Name?, and S&M). All this, while nominating Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, etc. for their material. They also snub other female R&B artists and showed that they don't intend to support them by eliminating the R&B categories at the VMAs. Yet they award artists like Miley for cultural appropriation. Such a shame. Nicki rightfully called them out and the media is backing her because she didn't lie.

they are siding with Nicki because niki turned it into a race thing when it was never that. Taylor responded to Nicki low key shading her "if your a thin girl then you will be nominated" etc...

Taylor's idea of feminism is that of one-track minded white feminism, and she's eager to pull out the females should support each other card despite being fresh off a hit single built on a feud with a fellow pop star.
People with COMMON SENSE and a sliver of intelligence will realize Taylor was 100% wrong to hijack a conversation about an issue that had nothing to do with her. NO, Nicki did NOT call her out - she did not mention Taylor's name; Taylor took offense because YES, she benefits from that privilege and as most privileged people do in the face of being called out, she tried to turn the conversation into one where Nicki was the wrong party.
Y'all will sit down here and defend Taylor to the pearly gates, because she's putting out good pop music and y'all are internally racist af.
But you know, y'all do y'all.

3) She didn't hijack a conversation, she replied to a passive aggressive comment about her.
4) Taylor was the only nominee who fit the description of skinny woman, so yes it was about her.
5) Who said Taylor took offence (not offense)? She simply asked why Nicki was subtweeting her.
6) The initial conversation was about weight, not race, which is the one Taylor replied to.
7) Throwing out the racist card is the easiest way to deflect when you're in the wrong.
Co-signing, debunked.
