I do agree music videos, official audio videos, lyric videos and performances should be counted but not memes by wannabe comedians and ****

actually, i kinda don't like any of those number ones either. i'm sure something else will come up that i like, but i'm not impressed so far

Sorry is okay, but yeah. This year's number ones are far worse than any year before.

I don't mind them counting, just think their weight should be severely reduced, to keep on demand dominant

There was nothing viral about See You Again, Sorry or Uptown Funk. They just had huge streaming, that's all. I think by viral you mean something like Gangnam Style, Harlem Shake, The Fox or Wrecking Ball. Viral doesn't mean big streaming.

what? uptown funk had viral videos of things like people doing dance routines of it and things like that. the point is pretty moot because it would've hit #1 anyway, but let's not delude ourselves.

Congrats to Work, Panda, Pillowtalk, Work From Home, ITAPII and CBTO. (This is the first time in ages that I like a majority of the top 10 )
I'm so mad that Work got #1 this week, tho. Even tho it's unlikely, I want Work to go #1 next week. 10 weeks at #1 sounds so iconic. The number 9 is so random and weird, doesn't have the same power as the number 10. Oh well.

ok it had viral videos ASSOCIATED with it but it itself wasn't a viral hit.
I think viral videos should count tbh. I mean Harlem Shake deserved to be #1 (maybe not for 5 weeks, more like 2 at most but streaming was still low so thrift shop had no chance). It was the most popular song in the country

Love Yourself def didn't have anything close to a viral video but it was #1 for 2 weeks. So don't act like it's impossible to go #1 without a viral video.

No it was the most popular meme in the country. It was never a more popular song than thrift shop. Which had much more wide appeal

Harlem Shake was everywhere when it was #1, even if it had become a meme, it was most definitely worthy of being a #1, even tho the song is trash
