watch her and you'll see that nicki has no concept of anything with regards to the development of this clothing line. she's clueless when this is supposed to be her OWN brand of clothing.
i doubt she has any creative control over what makes the cut or not.
You can clearly see the girl directing her team what to do, oh Knowledgeable one.
god, award for the most pretentious member has to go to you. get your head out of your ass and stop thinking that *looks at your sig* your opinion is more valuable than others just because you work at a store. kthnxbye
My degree in Fashion Design makes me Expert, NM is just a stepping stone to bigger things, what you're saying is lets say someone who graduates from Harvard Law knows nothing about the law - I went to an art school who's focus is this - so I think the people who speak in such an authoritative tone not knowing what moves fashion or what it takes to make it huge shouldn't be talking down to someone who has studied a particular subject.
I don't work on The Floor, my job is pretty much outside of the store every day, I go to presentation from the designers themselves trying to get what's new into our stores. So sorry for y'all who think I work in a department on the floor, that's for people like you, without the degree.
Expert: a person who has a comprehensive and authoritative knowledge of or skill in a particular area.

I can't believe the negativity and hate the clothing is getting, receiving, and garnering from everyone. I find the pieces to be very intriguing, diverse, creative, artistic, unique, dazzling, and stunning. You have to remember the aim and goal Nicki had in mind for this clothing line. It was that for the clothes to have an broad appeal, be polarizing and most importantly for it to be affordable because Nicki grew up in poverty and she could remember the times she couldn't afford to buy clothing and she knows some of her fans are poor and it's a struggle for them to afford clothing. And as far is it being sold at K-Mart, we don't know the business or contractual agreement and side of it. Maybe she shopped the line to other major retailers and they had certain terms, conditions, and agreements that weren't suitable for Nicki or the clothing line.
lol
it just seemed like she didn't know what was going on with regards to her clothes at all
Ok you got me on my wording there. But she was directing her team. She even told them to to change the materials on some of the dresses. Nicki has CONTROL over her brand.

Don't get me wrong some of these articles are cute, I just don't think they fit the Brand that NM is trying to exude, I would see this moving in less high-end places. Target could separate some space on their floor, I've seen their fall line-up this year, it's cute... Walmart would totally damage the image - some things would do well, Walmart is too low a place - Walmart is death to a brand lol - like a hail mary type of thing, specialty stores in the mall can carry it - say Forever 21 - I can see the Merchandising team working this out pretty well on the floor. Nikki @ G BY Guess that's a cute store.
I was speaking from an experts stand-point from sales at a Neiman Marcus perspective - it wouldn't go there - if you were to be exposed to the places and things I do every day you'd understand but you aren't, therefore you think it's a blatant attack on something I really didn't speak down to begin with.

Law is objective hun, fashion and design are subjective. I've personally provided links to the definition of these words because as you've said, I do have the comprehensive and authoritative knowledge to enlighten you and school you down Saying you have a degree in Fashion doesn't guarantee you have the right to judge, but it apparently does give you the right to superficially own a sense of authority.
I've personally known many "professional" graphic designers who have gotten bachelors and masters in their degree but still designs like a child on Paint.

all i read was pretentious, pretentious, pretentious, brags about degree, pretentious, condescending, pretentious
just because i don't have a degree and you do doesn't mean your opinion is worth more than mine sorry to break it to you. so there's no need for you to talk down to me or anybody else in this thread for that matter. people like you may have a hand in selling the clothes but guess who the consumer is? "people like" me
don't bother responding because i wont bother reading. go post in a fashion forum if you want to brag about your degree.

Stephenie Meyer, no one has got time to read about you and your "job". This is Nicki Minaj's thread about her fashion line.

For someone who's working for the "Fashion/Beauty Industry" you seem so obsessed and putting so much interest to a K-mart clothing line by Onika
That's here, everywhere I go it's all about the fashion, I love it!!
That's why I like Music, it's overt attention to the fashion industry - they're both co-dependant (entertainment industry and the fashion industry).
I come on to ATRL because, all the stan bases put the best pictures of their favorite artist and I don't have to browse every website to get the best of everyone - ATRL is a one-stop-pop-shop; and I get insight to see exactly what consumers are saying.
