She seems very insecure. Didn't she say she fled the US and tried to kill herself over some bad reviews (her words, not mine)? Plus all the unnecessary plastic surgery at such a young age. Hopefully she finds a better way to deal with criticism/rejection.
This is clearly about Lorde. Let's analyze this for a bit:
Lorde shaded Lana early in her career. Gaga has never even mentioned Lana before. Lorde follows a similar, "dark, tortured artist" aesthetic as Lana Pure Heroine has a lot more in common with Born to Die, than ARTPOP. Finally, I think you're all missing the most important part. The name of the song is called "F***** My Way to The Top" not "F***** Your Way to the Top." For all we know Lana is still talking about herself in the song, and not the artist in question. We all know Lana is very liberal when discussing her sexuality. Cola, Gods and Monsters etc. etc. I wouldn't be surprised if Lana alludes to her own sexuality in the song while simultaneously dissing the pop star in question. My guess is on Lorde.
Lorde and Lana's music sound NOTHING alike. Lorde is 17 and had to be younger before then which I doubt is true if she did do this. You really think Lorde slept with people to get to the top? She had a hit song that went viral and blew up.
When did either Lorde or Gaga say that her style wasn't "authentic"? I remember Lorde mentioning something about her always talking about a man, and Gaga never once acknowledged this girl. And how did either one take her boring style?
Lorde has mentioned multiple times that she likes Lana's music and her visuals. She quoted her on her tumblr and Instagram. Lorde also never said something that would assume that Lana has **** her way up to the top. As writers, they have a different perspective and Lorde and Lana's sister also tweeted each other.
People need to calm down. It's probably about somebody who has badmouthed her off camera, she was probably pissed about it and the fact that people believed this person, so she wrote a song about the situation.
What's wrong with that? It's not like we will ever know for sure.
Around the middle of last year I started listening to a lot of rap, like Nicki Minaj and Drake, as well as pop singers like Lana Del Rey,” Lorde told Interview magazine. “They all sing about such opulence, stuff that just didn’t relate to me—or anyone that I knew. I began thinking, ‘How are we listening to this? It’s completely irrelevant.'
