We were having political discourse. I wanted to know US folks perspectives because I am UK. And black folk don't perpetuate stereotypes, most black folk don't hold them about white folk. We love our food, but we're not all one chicken loving race. And I don't mind watermelon, but i don't frequent it either

Also,while the United Negro College Fund may have good intentions,I really dislike that you have to go to an HBCU in order to receive one of their scholarships.
I mean a lot of the black scholarships I have seen (in general) pertain to certain schools (that I don't attend) or majors that I don't wish to pursue.
BTW,I still REFUSE to go to Central.A&T,heck ECSU>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I don't like that either. I see what they're trying to do, but, it's kind of unfair to limit the options of some Black students that could use that assistance and would like to pursue degrees at non-HBCUs.
There are a lot of great HBCUs though...Hampton, Howard, Spelman, Morehouse, Fisk, Xavier, etc.
A&T is most def the best in NC and one of the top public HBCUs. It has the best engineering program out of all of them.
Central tho

And you're right, there are very few people (in America especially) that are 100% anything.
Then again, I don't think it's fair to try and force partially Black or biracial people to not acknowledge other parts of their racial make up if they want to do so (I choose not to for various reasons, but, it's a personal choice); however, I can not stand biracials that try to deny their Blackness and act as if they are better than or not one of us because of their White, Asian, Indian, whatever, blood. It really, really bothers me.

So you're saying I should go along with what the KKK believes in? I am part black, and I am part white. I will not identify as fully black just because some pressed racist felt I should 50 years ago. Just because you and the rest of you people want to identify as fully black, I will not. I am not all black and will never say I am.

No, god damn it. It has nothing to do with the beliefs of the KKK. It has nothing to with what you identify as. Most people will consider you to be a Black person or biracial. No one will look upon you as White. Just saying.  It is okay to identify like that, because that is exactly who you are. But emphasizing that you are half-and-half or saying things like "NO, I'M ONLY HALF BLACK!  " when someone calls you Black would be dumb.

I don't necessarily agree with that, as I am biracial(Puerto Rican) and VERY proud of that. And we as a species need to move beyond classifying people so limitedly. But you shouldn't shun or hate a side of you. Ill never understand that, but that's how I grew up.

You know what REALLY ****ing grinds my gears? Black people who don't know that they are Black being racist toward other Black people. *COUGH COUGH*
I just HATE that people are generally unaware of the fact that Hispanic is an ethnic category rather than a race and that a Hispanic person can be Black, White, Asian or Native American like anyone else. I hate the self-hate amongst Afro-Latinos too.
