You're delusional. Being selected as the World Cup song does not guarantee success. The previous World Cup song was not successful. Your argument is not valid. Stop trying to find excuses as to why Shakira is successful.
"Hips Don't Lie" was an even bigger hit than "Waka Waka". "Whenever Wherever" was also huge. When Shakira gets big hits they are mammoth hits.
You mention the recognition that Beyonce has received, but it's largely U.S. based (U.S. media dominates). If I were to use the same reasoning, even Shakira receives as much recognition in her home base, if not much more. In the entirety of Latin America and Spain she's untouchable. No Spanish-speaking female artist even challenges her. When she was awarded Person of The Year at this year's Latin Grammys, she too had overwhelming support and recognition from her musical peers.
