USA gives people hope and the chance to fight for what they want... other countries don't do that. As far as I know, in some of the Middle Eastern countries, rallies for gay marriage would end in death for the protestors.
I cannot stand when people who live here complain about it. Get out of here if you don't like it, we'll see how much you like living somewhere else.

If you live in the US, consider yourself lucky! We have alot of freedoms, other counties with they had. We live in peace really, no wars.
Yea we have our issues but they arent issues as great a other nations.
The US is a great place to live.

I already responded when you said that saying that that is a stupid reason... I need to stay up to date with other countries just so that on the off chance I meet someone from there I can strike up a conversation about their country? That is ridiculous. You really don't know anything about me so it's hard for me to take your critiques seriously.

America's higher education system remains the best in the world.

America lets states have their own say on everything.
education is one of those. when we're talking about systems as a whole, america is weak, DUE TO WHAT I JUST SAID.
NOW, as individual schools go, thats when we excel.
oh and your link is a bust, it requires someone to log in to see info.

I went to a tier 1 magnet high school centered around business and finance.
My sister went to a tier 3 public high school with one of the biggest dropout rates in our city.
That's how diverse things are in the US.

I know, I went to a private school, with a very low dropout rate. And many a majority of the students go to top schools. Next door to us, is a horrible public with a high dropout rate, and many students don't even go to college.

Thank you.
The US does things by states. The US has both a national government and a state government. This means you could live in one state and recieve one type of education while another state does things differently.
Because the US is broken up by state they have different feelings socially and economically. It almost like there are several smaller countries within the US. That is why you can catch someone talking in a southern accent in one state while they talk in another accent somwhere else. Where you live in the US is a big part of how you act.

1. I can't read that bolded incoherent mess
2. 'On the off chance'? Search the definition of globalization and educate yourself. It's all about building connections these days.

Well, again, lists are subject to varying calculations and errors.
Plus, look at what they're taking into account; much is based on your perspective:
Quote:
10. Sweden
> Life satisfaction score: 7.3
> Employment rate: 73% (5th highest)
> Self-reported good health: 79% (9th highest)
> Employees working long hours: 1.28% (3rd lowest)
> Disposable income: $26,633 (11th highest)
> Educational attainment: 86% (9th highest)
> Life expectancy: 81.5 years (7th highest)
|
For example, Americans might consider long hours enjoyable given the determination to succeed many have. Also, notice that all the countries are rather small; it's much easier to cater to the individual when there are fewer people.

Wait, so you're using statistics to back up your claim? Do you know how unreliable statistics are? And those countries, are smaller in population in compared to the US. Show me a country with a high population like the US. Where's Japan? Indonesia? China? India? And Americans are workaholics, they love to work.
And you look desperate now.

It depends on where you live and how much your state invest in education. Some states invest more money in education while other don't. That why some states have high rates of higher education and others have high drop out rates.

Very important and vital things to indicate happiness. Fact is, U.S.A didn't even score near the top 20.
Netherlands has always ranked atop healthcare list, education lists & happiness lists. It's not even comparable.

I think the US is gradually going out of control in the recent years.
Nonetheless it's one of the biggest nations for a reason and I'd give a lot just to be born in there.
A lot of people in my country are so spiteful jealous and ignorant towards american people though.
