TOP 50 SINGLES
#50 Coldplay - Up & Up
This isn't even on my AHFOD top 5 but it's still a great song. Coldplay also gave me my favourite video of the year so they obviously deserve a spot in this top 50. Don't worry prezli, this is just their first entry.
#49 Twenty One Pilots - Ride
These two guys were one of the biggest surprises of 2016. Their pop/rock/rap/alternative music is everything and Blurryface was one of my most played albums of the year (It didn't make the chart because it was released in 2015): the reggae influenced bop Ride is one of the best songs on it.
#48 Dua Lipa - Blow Your Mind (Mwah)
My favourite new pop girl after Zara, I can't wait to hear her debut album next year. Blow Your Mind is catchy and fun, especially the chorus is gold, but this is just her first entry here; 3 more Dua songs are coming.
#47 One Republic - Kids
When I heard Kids for the first time I thought it was going to smash a la Counting Stars. It's clearly the best song on Oh My My, such a powerful jam. It deserved so much more, poor Ryan.
#46 Beyoncè - Hold Up
*Beyoncè is a bitch and she hates Spotify*
Another song that deserved so much more. I really thought it was going to be hit since it's the catchiest song on Lemonade imo but... nothing. (Beyoncè is obviously responsable too because she wants her singles to be flops, lol). It wasn't even a critics fave, they were too busy praising Flopmation. #JusticeForHoldUp
#45 Jojo - FAB. (feat. Remy Ma)
This is THE BOP from Mad Love. When I heard it for the first time and I realized that FAB meant fake ass bitches I was so shook lol. Too bad that radios refuse to give her a chance, this was hit material.
#44 MØ - Final Song
The danish legend finally got a solo hit with this track (at least here in Europe). It's more generic than her previous singles but not less good for this. The pre-chorus is easily my favourite part of the song.
#43 Jennifer Lopez - Ain't Your Mama
This woman is almost 50 but she just can't get old. Ain't Your Mama was another success for her and it was one of my songs of the summer. The video is a bit old style but it reminds us that Jlo is a complete superstar.
#42 Shakira - Chantaje (feat. Maluma)
And here we have another latin legend. Shakira came back with this huge bop featuring latin Drake: it has a very current sounds but it also stays coherent with Shakira style, it's literally perfect. It isn't higher on this countdown just because it's still too fresh, but this is my bop atm. Oh, I almost forgot, the video is FIRE.
#41 Era Istrefi - Bonbon
This used to be the it bop here on ATRL during the spring, and I'm still not tired of it: the first breakdown is still everything. It was so cool to see it becoming a hit, who would have thought. The video is a bit strange but maybe it worked exactly for this reason. Era, the true kosovar legend.
