The paperwork and legalities that go behind it are much more time consuming than most people think.

And I can tell your manager my table was forgotten the whole time, and it's funny I'm ignorant but you do and think of things like this. Really?

Yes but some places the cooks can't accept tips. If you don't have a job that allows you to accept tips, you're not allowed. So if you think you can just go by the kitchen and leave a tip, that's cool. The server will just laugh behind your back when the manager gives it to them instead of the cook. Lol.

From now on I will tip cooks, but not tip waiters. I believe it's only right since I come for my food and they made it.

so how about you go directly to the chef tell him what you want and then bring your own food to your table sit down and then bring the plate back

It's your opinion we attacked and you feel we are rude but many waiters here can say likewise. So we are sorry for nothing.

I don't. But I know other servers that do and get away with it. I have gotten snappy with someone before. But dealing with rude people can take its toll. And you know what? I didn't get in trouble because this table had a reputation for treating servers like ****. The manager didn't seem to care. Funny when they have our back like that.

Now you're just being straight up rude, I said I was nice enough to do something 99% of others wouldn't. You said you were leaving pages ago, but you're still here being rude.

I can't at someone thinking the cook is more special because he follows the recipe from the chef or his or her boss when there is no recipe to being a waiter. People are random and the service will be too, it drains people out to commit to this type of service.

I'm a chef, and I've been server for a while.
Servers don't make minimum wage because it's up to the people they serve to pay them depending on how well they did, and how much you orders, normally 20% of the bill.
A server who serves an old guy that orders a sandwich would make less money than a server who has to wait on 12 people that order difficult orders, wait on you hand and foot, and od other things.
If you don't tip, you deserve to have hair and piss in every single thing you ever eat out.
I would personally make sure you have a terrible service and cold disgusting food when you finally got it 30 minutes late.
Most places now take 28-30% off for tips because of people like you who are so cheap you can't pay someone to do their job.
You pay someone to fix your car, to do your hair, to pain your nails. You think that just because someone painted your nails, you should only have to pay for the nail polish?
Get some common sense.
Also, with tipping chefs instead of waiters. Waiters make around $3.25-$5 an hour, depending where you are, while chefs make around $11-$24 an hour. We don't need tipped, we need you guys to tip the waiters so they'll do their job and be happy about it. If you had bad service, leave a 20% tip, if you had good service, leave a 30% tip.
If you're not going to tip, don't eat at a restaurant.

Then I could just honestly contact supervisor, or get the number to the Area Manager.A
Stop trying to be rude to me, and treat me like I'm stupid. If I don't leave a tip, okay.

You leave a tip because someone's served you food, drinks, and did it with a smile for likely an hour or more.
It's common decency.

It's obvious you're also gonna be rude and show disdain to every post I make, and this is gonna get nowhere - so how about you end the conversation? K.

28-30% is a good amount? Isn't that a bit too much?
I prefer service charge to be included

Oh I'm sorry. Didn't mean to offend you. I'll just go back to my pathetic job where I do nothing important for anyone.
Fact of the matter is, I enjoy what I do. Most of the people I deal with are cool. You do her awful people every now and again, and I usually just brush it off. Like I said, I think it's rude to ever trivialize someone's job unless you've done it before. And no, cleaning and cooking at your own house is nowhere near the same

That was rude? You should check back on some of what you posted. You literally tore apart the people in restaurant customer service.

30% is normally what you should tip if you had good service. Because people the OP, it's now often taken off for you because people don't tip, so they're forced to, by law.

I'm a chef, and I have made sure that the people that had stiffed me more than once get cold food, leftovers, the stuff that has been overcooked or dropped because it doesn't matter, you're not going to tip my server anyway,
Piss and hair was out of anger, that's never actually happened, I just hope it happens to people like that.
