I really don’t see the reason for the hate towards Drake. He wouldn’t even have done the song if Barry (Aaliyah’s uncle/manager) didn’t give him the blessing (notice the ‘Blackground’ logo at the bottom left). And where was Missy and Timb when he did “Unforgettable” with Young Jeezy? I think they need to hush. Who”s to say that if she was still living she would still be working with them? she left R. Kelly and was willing to do something new, so who’s to say.

I just think most of these producers are pressed because they want to be noticed. Drake did this track so of course it is gonna chart. If timberland or the rest released any Aaliyah song right now, it wouldn't create as much buzz.

Honestly, the lyrics and vocals totally overpower any dislike I'm trying to hold onto for this song. The concept and execution and the harmonies and UUUUGH KWEEN. I just imagine a more lively, lush production under it and that makes me happy. I hope remixes come soon.

I think it would be classier if they released multiple versions of each track.

A. The original version, or as much of they could get it of it to sound finished
B. A new version by producers who worked with Aaliyah in her prime
C. A new version or 2 from upcoming producers chosen by her family and producers

It would still be presenting the music in a modern way, but respecting the legacy she had.

I can't at you making this more than it really is. Drake is a musician who happens to admire another musician, a deceased one for that matter. He's admitted Aaliyah is his main musical inspiration, there is nothing wrong with him showing her love whenever he pleases and can.

One other point, where's the credit to 40? I mean I don't like the beat for certain reasons, but he did most of the work ON THE SONG, drake just rapped on it. It's not like he wrote Aaliyahs part of something.
