Why hasn't radio taken to Gotye and Fun yet? How slow is it? Honestly, radio in America is behind the curve so much these days. It is slow to catch on.
It used to be the case that radio led the way. Nowadays, radio is struggling to catch up with what the American public is buying on Itunes. It's an indication of the decline of radio and Clear Channel in particular.
I suppose with YouTube and Ipods etc, radio is no longer the force it used to be. Perhaps Billboard needs to pay less attention to radio airplay when compiling its charts.
