This week for me has been very very Radio friendly. As of late, my friend and I have been spending a lot of time together (about 4/7 days of the tracking week together) and we have made it a thing to continuously listen to the radio. With this some songs were exposed to me more strongly then others.
For one, Katy Perry's Dark Horse pretty much soared to #1 because literally about 3-4 songs would go by (when sorting though about 13 stations) and Dark Horse would play! For listening to the Radio Hours on end, Dark Horse jumped past any Zune or CD plays I could have done during the week I was rooting on Lady A to tie a certain streak they had going for them (Lady A was one Week in tying Will Young's Believe in having 6 straight weeks at #1 (That is the record in terms of longest consecutive weeks at #1)). but alas. Lady Antebellum's Compass remains at #2 and can likely rebound in the near future.
Dark Horse is not the only song to evidently slay my chart because of Radio Play. One Direction's Story of My Life, Lorde's Team, John Legend's All of Me, Jason Derülo's Talk Dirty, Sara Barellies' Brave, Imagine Dragons' Demons, Passenger's Let Her Go, Beyoncé's Drunk In Love (to some degree), and countless other gainers/debuts have accounted for mass radio play. This week can be a week in which many of y'all will reconginze the songs which is a good thing. I also tend to like most of these songs as well.
Note
Some songs were more or less Blacklisted from being listened to (aka my friend loathed the song and we would skip over the station if they played it). But the sheer fact they were exposed minimallay these following songs did experience some gain despite being Blacklisted:
-A Great Big World & Christina Aguilera: Say Something ("Too Repetitive")
-Eminem: The Monster ("Annoying")
-Pharrell - Happy ("Repetitive and Kiddish" (funny considered the song is from a kids movie )
-Chris Brown: Loyal & Show Me (a feature) ("Its Chris Brown")
Oh and notice. This is my first chart since the release of Losing Myself I have not had a Will Young song on my chart (since the March 1-8 chart week in 2012)
Personal
Well this week was pretty much the week my friend's health got messed up. With plenty of health problems already, this week was a tramatic one for her in comparison to most recent times. I'm not going into to detail around that, but I do want to share what my week looked like. I ended up staying with my friend on Thursday, Sunday-Tuesday to help her out. I did this by firstly just being another human body to interact with (being sick by yourself can be lonely and I wanted to at least have someone to interact with). This especially happened when the person she's dating was out of town for work. Other things like food and my own time I was easily able to get away from doing pretty easily, I pretty much wanted to help out mostly since I was hoping in hindsight this would help her to get back into school (as she is* currently attending).
In the other half of the times I would just catch up on things going on either on the forum sites, I even caught up on my charts, games, and survivors (basically tasks I was putting off lol). I pretty much focused a lot of my time around my friend. I still am doing some things her since Wednesday (but of course today is Valentine's Day and her boyfriend is in town ).
