Nothing bothers me more than people who say they're "color blind." I acknowledge every single one of my black, asian, indian, and hispanic friends that they are a different race from myself. Of course treat them the same, but don't deny who they are.

Just take a look at this forum. Beyonce,Rihanna and others black artists get more racist comments here than white artists(if any).

I never said they didn't, but black people from what I have seen tend to get extremely defensive about white people sharing even the slightest racist experience as if it can't happen which isn't the case.

That's interesting. I live in Northern California, so 99% of hispanic people are Mexican, and 99% of asian people are hmong, so they refer to themselves as their original nationality.

True. Being on the internet and not having person to person interaction hurts how we interpret messages as well.

I'm white, so this isn't a racism story let alone a story at all.
My friends People at my school ALWAYS say such terrible and stereotypical things like "oh there's that Arab girl, take cover!" And I look at them like what the **** are you doing. It's terrible that people STILL experience that these days.
However, I honestly agree that it's completely understandable to be a little more cautious if you will when a gang of a different race approaches you in the middle of the city. I hate to say this, but the African Americans at my school (who are generally from a wealthy area) try to act like they're "everything" and get in people's faces. And honestly, I don't like that at all. It's sometimes scary when a gang of them approaches you. Don't get me wrong; OF COURSE there are nice African Americans. A girl at my old school was one of my best friends and one of the nicest people there if not the nicest.
I'm Jewish, so my "friends" always make jokes about Hitler and Nazis and think it's okay. Do they think it's okay to joke about six million deaths? That's one thing that always makes me mad. So I stopped telling people my religion when I was asked.

Precisely,
because the Irish are white people
It is discrimination, but not based on race
Honestly, what is so hard to understand about that

Yes, but that is what sets racism apart.
The use of Racial classifications and racism began with the trans Atlantic slave trade.
The Europeans used it as a way to paint Africans as inferior so they could justify enslaving them.
The Africans had different ethnicities and sub-classifications too, but the Europeans did not care and enslaved any African they could find despite what the ethnicity and social status was.
That is what makes it different.

Uhh, no. Color blind is denying people them being colored. Oprah talked about this. "My neighbor told me 'i dont see you as a black person, you're just my neighbor.' " It's like, really offensive, but not intentional.

The first American slave was owned by a black man. #Fact
And whites can experience racism. It's old news to hear blacks cry victim. Sometimes yes they are but I've see too many examples of disrespectful, ignorant, and criminal blacks trying to pull that card when THEY'RE wrong. It's so ****ing annoying. I'm also black so I'm just being objective. But some white people are way too ****ing judgmental. It goes all ways. And when people see that we are all people, and they strive to improve as a human being instead of stay tied down as a race that has the blurriest of lines nowadays, then we can move forward as a society.

What the **** is this ****? What hate crimes have people of color done towards white people that merit colonialism and its lingering effects (the basis of oppression people of color face worldwide today)? This thread is seriously distrubing, the amount of ignorance and blatant racism apologists on here

Oh also, recently there have been a lot of Nepalese immigrants in my city, and everyone in my school hates them and calls them "Nepalians".
Some of them are kind of rude, but they are not bad people. Usually they just stay together because they don't speak very well English and no one really wants to talk to them.

I'm from the Caribbean. I identify as black. Some of my ancestors were slaves. Some of my other ancestors were Indios. Just because I'm light skin doesnt mean that I'm not black.

What the **** isn't a "made up definition" tho? You let old white dudes make your opinions for you? Is the dictionary the only place you go to to understand topics?
What in the entire ****.
