6 Sam Hunt Leave The Night On 35,000 569,000
16 Frankie Ballard Sunshine & Whiskey 20,000 410,000
20 Dustin Lynch Where It's At 18,000 561,000
21 Cole Swindell Hope You Get Lonely... 17,000 573,000
23 Dierks Drunk On A Plane 16,000 1,001,000
OH BTW, they fixed Taylor's Streaming Numbers, it was 11.8M this week
If you convert the points into sales, it looks like SIO trails AATB only by 85k to 90k something in sales. SIO just needs to outsell AATB by 95k next week n it can retake the number 1 back.
Viral hits don't stay in the top 5 for 6 weeks. Viral hits don't have much cultural impact outside the internet, which anaconda clearly does. It's a huge hit, deal with it. Streaming should not be discredited.
I would agree with you if Anaconda's selling power matched its Streaming power. I could care less about Radio, since it's not up to the public to decide what to listen to. But Anaconda isn't doing well on iTunes to deserve the top 3 position. People aren't watching the video for the song. So it's not a "Wrecking Ball", "Bad Romance" or "Last Friday Night" kind of Streaming-fueled hit. It's more like Harlem Shake or Friday or any other forgettable viral.

I'm already happy enough that SIO is doing better numbers than "Never", despite the decline of sales, but another week at #1 would be so good! C'mon Taylor, you can do it.

No, it's not - it just serves as an indicator of where the market is going. Within a year, streaming will have ridiculous numbers and sales will by literally abysmal. Will every hit at that point be dismissed as viral? I mean, we might as well discredit the entire Hot 100 if we're going to pretend that sales hold the same significance as they did even a year ago. Anaconda is a huge streaming hit; therefore, it's a hit overall. Viral hits, like Harlem Shake and Gangnam Style which had poor to moderate sales at best, are still hits anyway - discrediting them is literally pointless, and trying to discredit Nicki's single by using them as examples is also pointless.

Consider revising those early predictions, this just happened...

too bad Anaconda is actually getting spins on radio so therefore your point in moot
maybe you should care less about radio then

Gangnam Style had poor to moderate sales? Gurl plz.
Not when some people claim that certain artists have good enough sales to qualify as big hits despite never hitting 100k in a week.
Also: so Ellen had a viral video.
That 11-year-old had a viral video.
Now Ellen promoting that 11-year-old is supposed to be viral?
How...redundant.
Retro is right. Sales are already the least important factor on the Hot 100 now, but by this time next year, their influence will be underwhelming, at best.
