Dumb move.

Fifth Harmony is a KNOWN name now. It literally does not matter. If the song is good this will be a hit.

At this point we aren't going to get one. Unless they are secretly planning to release AIMH after their performance on DWTS (which is possible).

As much as I advocate that Camila's voice is a huge part of 5H's overall brand and allows them to differentiate themselves from other groups/acts, acting like they can only get a hit if Camila dominates a song is ridiculous.
Let's first look at who has a solo in each single:
MMO - Camila, Lauren, Ally, Dinah, Normani
BO$$ - Camila, Lauren, Ally, Normani
Sledgehammer - Camila, Lauren, Ally, Normani
Worth It - Camila, Ally, Normani, Dinah
Work From Home - Camila, Lauren, Ally, Normani, Dinah
Now let's look at the success rate for singles for each girl when they have solos (with WI and WFH being hits, and MMO/BO$$/Sledgehammer not being hits)
Lauren = 1/4 = 25%
Camila = 2/5 = 40%
Normani = 2/5 = 40%
Ally = 2/5 = 40%
Dinah = 2/3 = 66%
If Camila was the sole reason for 5H's hits, she'd have a 100% hit rate as opposed to a 40% hit rate. As KORDEI intimated, Dinah's actually the one with the highest hit rate - she wasn't featured on two out of their three flops, yet was featured on both of their hits. Now this obviously doesn't turn around to mean that they need Dinah to get a hit either. But the logic that they need Camila to get a hit isn't actually founded in any evidence.

They said Lauren, Mani and Dinah basically take lead in the song and Camila had the least amount of parts. Fetty raps in the beginning and in the middle.

Did they gave more specific information about that? Like the three of them equally lead the song or does Dinah lead with Lauren and Normani being prominent too? Any way it is this just got me more excited about the song, Dinah deserves her time to shine and Lauren too, she didn't get a solo on Worth It and even though she got the chorus on WFH, the chorus doesn't showcase her voice, if I didn't know better, just based on their two big hits I would think she probably can't sing or is the weakest vocally when actually her voice is beautiful and powerful.
And about Camila, yeah she has the most distinct voice but I tend to dislike her tone so I am also happy about that, it's not a big deal anyway, she sings a lot on WFH, Write On Me and especially on The Life.

Camila might have the most recognizable tone, but Dinah's voice has that "something" that gets stuck in your head.

Yeah I agree, I mean I'm happy to hear that Camila got the least amount of parts because I don't like her voice most of the time but being objective, while I agree that Camila is very important for Fifth Harmony it's not like her not being all over the song will have a negative effect on it, to be honest it's not about who got a verse or not is mostly about the song, WI and WFH just have that "big hit" sound, the other don't, also, some people find her voice annoying and some fans complaint about Dinah and Lauren not getting that much time to shine and Camila getting too much like on The Life which is almost ridiculous how much she sings on that one.
They all had a song or a few songs in which they barely sing or they just get the least amount of parts, this time, and probably for the first time (?) it's Camila's turn, it's fine.

n Bye Bentley. BO$$ and Sledgehammer sold around the same and Sledgehammer had like the double the airplay and promotion + a 69 cents discount

I think the upbeat songs should all have Camila and/or Normani as leads since their voices are more suitable for that. They can sing anything pop that will sound great on radio, idk how to explain this but they make Worth It and BO$$ unique, respectively.
Leave Dinah for ballads since she's a great vocalist and her talent is very underrated, a slow song will make her shine even more.
Lauren and Ally for mid-tempo songs.
About AIMH idk how to feel about it since the song is not even out to judge, so let's wait.

I agree with you, Lady Claire. When it comes to versatility and sounding good in any song genre, I think Normani & Camila shine there.

What I think the group needs to work on is creating a unique identity--and an individual identity for each member. With the big girl groups of the past (Spice Girls, TLC, Destiny's Child) everyone knew the girls by name and it really made a difference. As of right now the GP barely knows any of the girls' names; to them, they're just a bunch of nameless faces with a few catchy hits.
