I adore BTS, there are so many career highlights on that album. I constantly spin the singles + Survival, I'd Rather Be Your Lover, Don't Stop, Love Tried To Welcome Me and Sanctuary. I adore Inside of Me or Forbidden Love and they're still really good songs.
The album is a real hidden gem in her discography. It's definitely one of her more 'quieter' releases and I love how it came right in the middle of the Erotica controversy and Ray of Light 'reawakening'. Sound-wise, it's LUSH. It's just a masterpiece from beginning to end. The cover art and photoshoot is also among her best and the era itself is so unique to her career.
What's not to like about Godtime Hymns?

It's one of my favourites. BS is definetely superior to ALL of M's 00s albums, especially Confessions and Hard Candy.
1. Secret
2. Take A Bow
3. Inside of Me
4. I'd Rather Be Your Lover
5. Human Nature
6. Forbidden Love
7. Love Tried to Welcome Me
8. Sanctuary
9. Don't Stop
10. Survival
11. Bedtime Story

Other than LTTWM, Sanctuary, Bedtime Story, Secret, and because of its HUGE success , Take a Bow, I don't see anything TRULY special or outstanding on Bedtime Stories.
Especially when you compare it to some of her Truly solid albums:Erotica,Like a Prayer, Ray of Light, American Life, Confessions. Even Music, if you'd rather.
It's good and that's all!

That's exactly how I feel about Confessions. It's good but I don't see anything outstanding about it. I like the concept and the songs sound great as a collective piece of work but are mostly indistinguishable.
It's the type of album you have playing in the background while you revise for exams because there's nothing too exciting (apart from the singles + I Love New York and Push) to distract you. On the other hand, BS is soothing, calm and sweet. Its very atmospheric and plush.

Candy Shop > Devil Wouldn’t Recognise You > Miles Away > She’s Not Me > Heartbeat > Spanish Lesson > Dance 2Night > Give It 2 Me > Voices > Incredible > 4 Minutes > Beat Goes On

In all honesty doe Bedtime Stories is Madonna's most solid album and in many ways it's my favorite from her, a distinction it shares with AL and RH.

At first I thought this song was about a lover, but then I read it was about Madonna's mother? What's the truth, is someone familiar with the situation?

After listening to half a dozen disco reboots and the terrible Isaac, it's the only song that deviated from the other album tracks and caught my attention. It has an odd bhangra inspired production with heavy beats and the lyrics are cute too. In fact, I posted the lyrics to the chorus onto my FB page years ago and so many of my young, hip, teenage friends "liked" the post. The hit that got away tbh

At first I thought it was about an ex-lover's penis but apparently (according to forum posters and YouTube comments) it's about her mother. I also read somewhere that it may be about one of Madonna's abortions.

Sis, please!
The "wrestle with your darkness/Angels call your name/can you hear what they are saying? /will you ever be the same? " lines alone, make Isaac a terrific song
Plus, its live performance is THE definition of "Pop Art Masterpiece ".
So, don't

Not when 4 Minutes and Beat Goes On are two of the only good songs on that piece of trash

Isaac? Terrible? Not when the verses are pure slayage.
But I agree Push it's a good song, change somehow the vibe like Like It Or Not, but it fits.

Confessions is such a good album, she excels at dance pop and when she's on form none of the other gurls come close.
Hope her next album is a pseudo sequel to Confessions.
