I think today we should all talk about Bedtime Stories her 4th best album and praise its quality.

GOD Madonna is just so amazing. I genuinely think she is a gift from god - no joke.

Godtime Hymns is probably Madonna's best album if we're going by the amount of skippable tracks or lack thereof. Godtime Hymns has ZERO skippables. Hard Grammy is next with only ONE skippable.

In all honesty doe Bedtime Stories is Madonna's most solid album and in many ways it's my favorite from her, a distinction it shares with AL and RH.

It's so good! A fittingly perfect performance to accompany one of her best songs.

Other than LTTWM, Sanctuary, Bedtime Story, Secret, and because of its HUGE success , Take a Bow, I don't see anything TRULY special or outstanding on Bedtime Stories.
Especially when you compare it to some of her Truly solid albums:Erotica,Like a Prayer, Ray of Light, American Life, Confessions. Even Music, if you'd rather.
It's good and that's all!

Bedtime Stories is truly a magestic album because it is very personal. Instead of apologizing for her overly sexual behaviour Madonna just kept doing her thing and created these brilliant songs. I think BS is very polarizing among fans. Some hate it, others adore it.

I adore BTS, there are so many career highlights on that album. I constantly spin the singles + Survival, I'd Rather Be Your Lover, Don't Stop, Love Tried To Welcome Me and Sanctuary. I don't have as much time for Inside of Me or Forbidden Love but they're still really good songs.

The album is a real hidden gem in her discography. It's definitely one of her more 'quieter' releases and I love how it came right in the middle of the Erotica controversy and Ray of Light 'reawakening'. Sound-wise, it's LUSH. It's just a masterpiece from beginning to end. The cover art and photoshoot is also among her best and the era itself is so unique to her career.

I like the album, I really do!
But, people LOVE to point their fingers to Hard Candy, saying it was the first time Madonna followed a trend instead of setting one.
I disagree and note, this is not a post to "defend" Hard Candy.
I think BS is the true album when it comes to "following trends".
While she managed to turn Timbaland's sound into a "Madonna meets Timbaland " kind of sound, the same doesn't quite happened to Bedtime Stories overall (bar very few songs).
I agree with Mike tho. You can listen to the album without skipping a single song.

One last thing, the lyrics on Bedtime Stories are miles ahead of the ones from Hard Candy.

It's one of my favourites. BS is definetely superior to ALL of M's 00s albums, especially Confessions and Hard Candy.
