She can speak on fiscal conservative values...that would be palatable to the GOP base, and how she has handed race issues: ie "Charleston church shooting, and supporting the removal of the confederate flag from the statehouse after the shooting". Haley has also been proactive in SC weather disasters with Hurricane Joaquin and evacuating people out early for Hurricane Matthew.

In what I've read about Haley, she has also done a good job attracting businesses to SC...such as Volvo...yeah, she'd be one of the better candidates the GOP could nominate in 2020.

The fiscal conservatives that vote in the primaries have been completely suffocated by racist populists. Trump is hardly conservative by any means. His entire platform is entrenched in racism and sexism. He won because he called Mexicans "rapists," he won because he called women "slobs," they love his mocking of Rosie O'Donnell. Nikki Haley isn't like that at all. We saw the fiscal neo-cons rally behind Jeb, behind Rubio, behind Kasich. It never worked. Unless they create a huge rehabilitation program within the Republican Party, they're stuck with the basket of deplorables.

I do have some respect for Nikki Haley and I wouldn't mind her potentially becoming the Republican nominee but I don't see how the toxically sexist and racist populists voting for her in the primary.
