"Maneater" was not a flop. Under no circumstances should it be considered a flop, either. Just because it didn't go number 1 like the singles before and after it doesn't make it a flop. It was released at a risky time and let's admit it, the video was horrible, people. Had "Maneater" been released around the time "Say It Right" was, it would definitely would have gone to the top as well.
Don't give me all this **** about "ZOMG, it was too European" or "oh, the radio spins" when we all know damn well it was the best song off of Loose, and is hit material.
#16 on the BB Hot 100 is not, and I repeat, NOT, a flop.
Do you know how many [real] rock bands or rappers would die to have the #16 single for the first time in careers or again?
Let's look at some artists who it'd benefit:
- KoRn
- Nas
- The Roots
- Muse
- Red Hot Chili Peppers
Only two of these artists have had any of their singles pass #16 on the BB Hot 100 EVER, and only one of them has had it within the past three years. Hell, I don't even think two of the aforementioned artists/bands have ever even had a song chart. Let alone hit the top 20.
So do me a favor kids, and Shut The **** Up. Thank you.

You know what's funny is, "Promiscuous" and "Say It Right" were the HUGE hits here in the US while "Maneater" and "AGT" were the HUGE singles in Europe. It's like we've got completely opposite tastes or something. "Maneater" wasn't too successful here in the states, but it wasn't a flop. the same goes for "Promiscuous" and "Say It Right" in Europe--they were fairly successful but not to the same degree as the other 2 singles.

YOUR WEAKEND TOP 10: Jive/ZLG soul man R. Kelly looks like the runaway winner on next Tuesday’s HITS Top 50 album chart, with Double Up scaling between 385-400k, more than enough to give him #1. Last week’s chart-topper, Octone/A&M’s Maroon 5 drops to #2 with between 175k-180k, followed by WB’s Linkin Park (125-130k), the debut of Broken Bow/RED’s Jason Aldean (90-95k), RCA/RMG’s Daughtry (65-70k), Reprise’s Michael Buble (55-60k) Epic’s Ozzy Osbourne (50-55k), Arista/RMG’s Carrie Underwood (50-55k) and Avril Lavigne (45-50k) and Universal Republic’s Amy Winehouse (45-50k).
